  1. Hi y'all. we are at a cottage with free wifi! all iPhones, iPads and MacBooks are fine and connected well. my Windows 10 dell xps, does not want to load the login page where I need to input the password. I don't remember what the error message at the bottom said first but it changed and now it says "err-unsafe-port" Hope anyone can help. Thanks!
  2. Thank you. According to Crystal Disk Info is the Hard Drive in great condition! Any other ideas? or maybe know a way to configure this second hard drive?
  3. Thank you very much. After replacing the battery, the click actually does work again too. I was wondering why when I made the very first fresh clean install of High Sierra, the trackpad settings didnt show up. (Like where you can assign 3&4 finger gestures.) However after a clean install of Sierra they were available. I'm thinking maybe the first installation process got corrupted. Thats why I'm thinking of updating through the App store now, because they are currently available in Sierra.
  4. Hi! I’m using a 2010 MBP currently with Sierra again. I got the laptop without a hard drive. Thanks to my friend I was able to get a bootable USB with High Sierra on it. I put an SSD in and the installation went fine! After setting it up, I went through the settings and noticed that under “settings” the trackpad settings were not available. It says “connect trackpad” even though I’m using it and it works fine and is clicky. the laptop had a bloaded battery before, so several people online suggested that the inability to access trackpad settings is due to potential damage to trackpad ribbon cable. Because I didn’t like the performance on this 2010 machine, I downgraded to Sierra which I installed freshly, no backup used. After setting Sierra up, I did get into the trackpad settings and were able to customize the three and four finger gestures. Now I have 8gb of ram in it and thinking of upgrading to HS again through the app store this time though. Not via bootable usb. Will the trackpad settings be available after the upgrade to High Sierra? Why weren’t they in the first place? The ribbon cable seems fine, since it works under Sierra. anyone experienced a similar issue? Or would you even suggesting upgrading to HS or staying on Sierra? 2010 MBP, 248GB SSD, 2,4 GH, 8GB ram. Thanks very much!
  5. Hi guys. I’m having a problem. My HP 8460p is running Windows 10. I just bought a drive bay (caddy) to install a second hdd inside, instead of the dvd drive. After installation of the hard drive, I booted up the laptop and under “Computer” it is shown as a second “D” hard drive. However, I noticed an overall slowing down of the system after installing it, even for tasks that run of the main C drive. An a major problem is that if I put the computer to sleep, it actually doesn’t go to sleep, the screen turns off but I can tell by the sound of the fan and the leds, that the laptop is still on or doing something. Even though the screen is black. out of this state, is is unable to “ wake” up or turn the screen back on. I have to force shutt down and start new again. Secondly, while running the system, If i would to “restart” instead of sleep, it does the same, it doesn’t completely shut down, leds are on, screen is black, but nothing happens. Need to force shut off and start up again. Does anyone have an idea what I did wrong? Or how to fix this? I checked the BIOS and the boot order is “internal C” hard drive first. After taking out the drive bay, the laptop speed is back up and sleep and restart does work. Thank you!
