  1. After reading the pimoroni topic again http://blog.pimoroni.com/a-deep-dive-into-the-raspberry-pi-3-b-hardware/, I've determined that no, the heatspreader is NOT soldered to the die. The die is soldered to an interposer pcb, which is then BGA soldered onto the main Pi. The IHS has a ring of silicone adhesive and thermal paste between the die and the spreader itself. When my pi comes in, I'll be delidding it and posting it here on this site. I'll try to document the entire process.
