  1. Pretty solid specs. I got everything up and running, along with Windows 10 installed. Just kinda got some parts on the fly and impulse buying...I didn't feel like getting everything brand new and figured I could get most of what I needed for pretty cheap
  2. Let me know if these help at all...I've had a few beers as celebration for finishing the PC lol but if you need more specific pictures let me know. I have the 1050Ti plugged into the top blue slot if you can't see it
  3. Yes I will be able to take a few pictures. It felt like the cord was plugged in all the way; it felt snug in the card. I unplugged and plugged it back in multiple times before making this thread, but no luck. To my knowledge, this 1050Ti did not have any PCI-E connections, or any power connections to make. It was just a plug and play-type card
  4. To my knowledge HDMI cords are the exact same, it just depends on what they're being plugged in to. Or am I wrong?
  5. Yes so taking the end from my Xbox and plugging it into my PC, making the connection from my PC to my monitor, it should work, right?
  6. Hello everyone! I just completed my build, but unfortunately, I'm already off to a bad start Here are the specs Gigabyte 870A-UD3 motherboard with AMD Phenom II x6 processor Evga 500W PSU Evga Nvidia GTX 1050ti I'm new to this whole PC building thing. This was my first build, did it all with about $500, had an absolute blast doing it, but I noticed the 1050ti doesn't have a VGA port, so I can't just plug my monitor into it. I could get a VDI monitor if I wanted to, but this is an HDMI monitor I use for my computer and Xbox One. I booted up the computer (and was super stoked it f*cking turned on, was a little nervous it wouldn't even do that lol) then took the HDMI cord from my Xbox and plugged it into the HDMI port on the 1050ti. My monitor didn't turn on. Bad card? Bad mobo? Tomorrow I'll try the other graphics card port, but the card was up and running, along with everything else in the computer, and I'm on D2 on Xbox right now, so it's not the cord I wouldn't think. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
  7. it's the Gigabyte 870A motherboard with the AMD Phenom II x6 processor. Not sure on the clocking speed. I may start another thread, but I also got a 500W evga PSU, and a GTX 1050ti. That graphics card is in my budget and it was literally the last item on the shelf of the whole left side of the isle. It was calling my name, so I pulled the trigger on it. Well, I got all my shit put together and booted up the computer. I saw that the 1050ti doesn't have VGA like my monitor, but has an HDMI port. I play Xbox on my monitor, so I plugged in my Xbox's HDMI cord into the card, but my monitor didn't turn on. Bad card? Bad mobo? Not enough power? Help me if you can! If not, I'll start another thread
  8. ok so been a pretty good day I'd say. I got a case(don't know what brand or model, working on that part first) but it's a decent size, a Gigabyte 870A-Ud3 with the AMD Phenom II xm6, a 250GB SSD, a 2TB HDD, 8GB RAM, and then a GTX 1050Ti. All in all i spent a little over $500 for everything, i'm kinda iffy on the motherboard and processor, but since I got all my RAM, the motherboard, processor, and case for $75 I'm not gonna start complaining now
  9. I'm headed out to look at RAM, a case, and an Asus motherboard for $75. I have an Intel plentium processor already from this dead computer I have, and I'll look locally for a graphics card
  10. yeah dude it's a good looking case. Reading the reviews people are saying it doesn't have good cable management and I'm trying to keep mine looking clean on the inside without a ton of hassle
  11. lol yeah see there's so much I don't know and haven't really cared to look up....this one for $40 I saw has two 120mm led lit fans so to me $35 didn't seem like too much
  12. alright thanks for the info man! I'm just looking around on craigslist now and found a cheaper case for $35. Should I buy my parts new or is it okay to pick them up used?
  13. Thanks man! I play a whole bunch of games, recently tycoon games, like SimCity 5. I plan on getting Far Cry 5 on PC instead of Xbox and want to get my build done before that
