My system:
Cpu: i7 7700k
Gpu: gtx 1080 strix a8g
Ram: 2x8 gb ddr4
Cpu cooler: corsair h80i v2 (2 fans)
Motherboard: aorus z270x gaming 7
Psu: Corsair RM650X
Case: Fractal design Define C
Additional fans in case: 2 fans
My i7 7700k has very high temps even at idle. when at idle my temps are mostly ±38 which is fine, but sometimes there is a jump for a second to 45~55 for some reason. when opening a app, 3Dmark for example, the CPU package and cores temp go up to 70 c (max not avg).
While bench marking my pc on 3Dmark, my temps go up to 70 c at max and up to 56 at avg.
In cinbench, while bench marking, my cpu temp went up to 76 (max) and up to 70 at avg.
For a long time i wanted to overclock my cpu, and 3 days ago i bought a new PSU (the Corsair RM650X) to be able to overclock my cpu and gpu. so i ramped up my cpu to 4.5 ghz at bios (was on deafult of 4.2 ghz before that) , went into 3Dmark bench mark, and on the bench marking my cpu went up to 90 c at max temp and up to ±75 c at avg. the oc bench mark and the first benchmark on 3DMark were mostly testing gpu, and i had high cpu temps anyway.
Are this temps normal for the i7 7700k with an aio Corsair h80i v2 aio cooler?
Also i think i know what the problem might be. at first when i built my pc i didnt saw it but after a while it came to my attention that the aio back plate is not fully tied to the motherboard (picture).
Can this be the reason my cpu overheating? should i look into it? should i separate and re attach my aio cooler to the motherboard?
Thanks in advance!
