  1. Hi All My old monitor was a BenQ ZOWIE XL2411P 144 Hz. It was good enough as I mostly play FPS, CSGO majority of the time.I built my PC back in 2018 and it has a EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 SC. I'm looking for a similar monitor or maybe a slight upgrade that my graphics card can run. I had the below criteria in mind when started looking. Budget about £300 24-27 inch 144 HZ or more 1080 or more(Considering 1440P) Fast response time I have my options slimmed down to the below, Wanted a second opinion on what would be the best option. Any new recommendations will be cool too. Gigabyte 27" G27Q ViewSonic OMNI XG2431 ASUS TUF Gaming VG279QM Samsung Odyssey G5 LC27G55TQWRXXU Thanks
  2. Oh yea great idea i do have a few drives lying around, Completely tunnel visioned into buying the parts. Thanks for the idea
  3. Hi guys I've broken the little plastic support on the 15 pin my Crucial Mx500 SSD. Image's below https://imgur.com/a/gEkjZu9 I was able to straighten out the pins and use a USB 3.0 to SATA Adapter to get my Data out of the drive. so Nothing is lost. been thinking about a few ways to fix this and had the below idea's I've found just the Sata port on Aliexpress(Part G) but delivery is going to take over 2 months. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001878003587.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.1000060.1.2b95807aiHwjiY&gps-id=pcDetailBottomMoreThisSeller&scm=1007.13339.274681.0&scm_id=1007.13339.274681.0&scm-url=1007.13339.274681.0&pvid=5055397f-8dbe-471e-819d-cf6c823392a2&_t=gps-id:pcDetailBottomMoreThisSeller,scm-url:1007.13339.274681.0,pvid:5055397f-8dbe-471e-819d-cf6c823392a2,tpp_buckets:668%232846%238107%231934&pdp_ext_f={"sku_id"%3A"12000017995033574"%2C"sceneId"%3A"3339"}&pdp_npi=2%40dis!GBP!!0.39!!!!!%40211b5e2116553332918817997eca59!12000017995033574!rec I did find the below which i should be able to remove and solder to the SSD. Slightly more chance to mess up. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08KFFJP57/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1OGRI65268WXS&psc=1 Another option would be to get the below as it's the exact same connector as the USB 3.0 to SATA Adapter that i used and then regular cables can be used. I would likely have to super glue the stuff so it doesnt move. but there may be reliability issue's here. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09HPP5TB5/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A27JOR83VQOMU6&psc=1 I'm going to give this a little thought before i decide on what route i want to go down. Just wanted to get second opinion and new idea's from everyone incase there are better options Thanks
  4. I didn't do because the shroud around the IO won't let me have a fan near the back and the Ram block's it in the front. I guess the rear case fan can act as the second fan on the cooler.Ah I'm going to have to redo the cooler mounting and back plate. Thanks for the advice
  5. Hey Guy's When i first built this i was in a rush so just chucked everything in and got it working.I was thinking about Giving it a deep clean and was wondering if i should move some fan's around. I currently have 3 fan's in the front pulling air in. 2 in top and one in the back pushing out. The PSU pulls in from the bottom and push's out the back. The GPU is a EVGA 1080 SC connected to one 1080p 144hz moniter. This is usually at 55°C when just browsing/ watching things. The GPU is about 2-3cm above the PSU shroud. I was thinking of moving the two fan's over to the right and move the bottom fan from the CPU cooler to the top. this would let me move the GPU to the PCIe slot above currently hidden under the fan. As this creates a bigger area below the GPU it would have more access to cooler air and i'm assuming it would run a little cooler. Is this all worth doing or will this not make much of a difference and i should just leave it as it is. Thanks

    New headset

Hi Guys I currently use the Logitech G430 but it's on it's last leg so i was looking into new headsets. Mostly need them for gaming(CSGO) but i do listen to music and watch movies with the same headset. Prefer wired Mic would be prefered The above kind of cover my preferenses below is what i've been looking into but having difficulties deciding any advise would be appreciated. SHP9500 Sennheiser HD 559 beyerdynamic DT 990 sennheiser gsp 300 MH751/752 corsair void elite Thanks in advance
  7. I did look at alienware , M15 was the closest in price and it only had 8gb ram at 2666mhz when i matched the parts close to the Asus it was almost £2500. similar issue with Lenovo too. Laptops are such a pain.
  8. Hi guys My friend is considering a move from console to PC but he want's a laptop. When it comes to laptop i'm pretty useless so i was looking for some advice on a good laptop. i found the below but i don't know if this is a good price/deal. from the link you should have a good idea of price range(slightly flexible) and location. It's mostly for gaming and just watching/browsing. doesn't do any other kind of heavy work load. https://www.scan.co.uk/products/173-asus-tuf-gaming-a17-fa706iu-h7015t-fortress-gray-120hz-fhd-ryzen-7-gtx-1660ti-16gb-ddr4 Thanks for any advice.
  9. Hi Guys I currently have the logitec g430 headset, i play a few games but mostly CS:GO had it a few years dropped it quite a few time and it's currently held together with silicon putty and tape. i was looking at Philips Fidelio X2HR is this a good choice for this price range. I'll have to buy a mic seperately but that's not too much of an issue. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-X2HR-Resolution-Headphones-Isolation-Black/dp/B01N5VHLUG/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=philips%2Bheadphones&qid=1585817015&sr=8-3&th=1 Thanks for any advice
  10. this may sound really stupid but is your monitor connected to the gpu and not the motherboard. also check if triple buffer is on. this fixed a similar issue for my friend
  11. i dont know if this applies for laptops but my friend had a similar issue on a pc and the thing that fixed it for him was enabling triple buffering. it took us 2 hrs of trying random stuff we found online
  12. maybe try hitting forgot password and enter your email to recover it.
  13.
