  1. Fair enough, I made a post a week ago and did tons of trouble shooting. https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/907100-pc-restarts-mid-game-monitor-shuts-down-tried-to-fix-this-for-2-days/?tab=comments#comment-11151333 There is no water cooling. Its all standard cooling. Does this seem to be a damage mark? Ive never had a damaged/burnt motherboard so Im only looking for a second, third opinion.
  2. I replaced my motherboard and found that there is this dark residue on the back. What is it? https://i.imgur.com/B2186jl.jpg
  3. I dont think its the PSU tbqh. We tested so many things. Might it be the motherboard? I think its defective.
  4. We were monitoring the temps of the GPU as well tbh. in game it was running from the 50s to the 60s. nothing close to 90. Tested another monitor. This time the case ran except the CPU cooler fan would not spin. There was also no signal going to the monitor. We tested two monitors, neither had a signal running to them and would not run. Ideas?
  5. Hello, I helped a friend build a new gaming PC about 3 months ago and it's been working fine since then. However, two days ago an issue started happening during R6 Siege. The monitor suddenly went to sleep after about 45mins of play. My friend could still hear TS and Discord but not the game (steam profile also indicated that they were online). After a restart, everything was normal and they went back into the game. 1 hour, the later same issue occurred, the monitor went to sleep and after a restart everything was normal again. I checked the Event logger which stated that "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered" The next step was using Display Driver Uninstaller to remove the Nvidia drivers, restarting and installing an older version of the drivers. Then we ran 3D mark. Twice. There were no problems and the numbers were fine. We started R6 and after a bit, then after 45 mins the PC shut off mid game. Pressing the power button did not do anything; the system wouldn't turn on. We opened the case, took out the card, then the motherboard battery. Plugged in the DVI cable on the motherboard and boom. PC runs fine now. Uninstalled the NVIDIA drivers and turned off the PC again. This time we put the card back in and the system ran. Installed the latest drivers and started playing a different game (Witcher 3). After about an hour the the PC turned off again and wouldn't start. SO. AFTER .ALL. OF. THIS. We removed the GPU from the pc. Ran MemTest, no issues. Ran CPU testes. No issues. We then replaced the VGA cable, plugged it into another VGA port on the PSU. Moved the GPU to another PCIe slot and installed a new set of drivers for Nvidia. Then we went into MSI after burner and lowered the Core Clock of the GPU by -180. Then We ran Rainbow six. It lasted for an hour but sadly the PC shut down after 1 t hours.during gameplay we were monitoring temps across everything. Finally, we tried another 1080 and my 970, another PSU and a different set of RAM sticks. Each time we did, what ever games would run for a bit but the system would always crash. Monitor would go to sleep and the PC would either shut down or restart. HELP. PLEASE
