So you mean the ROG-version? Why not the other (I am just curious, if I buy the Asus, it would be the ROG)? -

Very nice recommendations! The Lenovo is somewhat expensive in Belgium it seems, but the Asus and MSI are very good options: on one hand is the Asus more future proof with skylake processor, USB type C connector and faster RAM, but it is more expensive (€100 more) and heavier/thicker... -

MSI Gaming laptops are most of the time (not to say always) beasts, they are good, well build, but also thick and heavy, this isn't really what I am looking for, but thanks! -

The inspiron 15 7000 series seems like a good option indeed, but an SSD would be great, so I will keep this in mind but keep on looking -

That would be too expensive, at home I have a really good gaming pc, but this would be for some light-weight gaming during the week when I am at my dorm and to bring with me for classes, there I have to run 3D modeling programs like solidworks... -
Hi, I am looking for a new laptop, I am a student and bring my laptop always with me, so it has to be portable. I would like to game a little bit on it (games like LOL, Rocket League, CSGO, but also newer games). NO MAC ALLOWED (because I hate it and for engineering, most programs run on windows). I prefer 15 inch (again: portable). Do you guys have tips for me? Stuff like the Razer Blade is way too expensive, my budget lies around 1100-1200 Euros (I live in Belgium).

I do that because with hinges, you have to drill holes in the glass, wich is dangerous because it could crack. With this method it is secured and I do not have to drill holes.

Your warranty will be voided btw

The best way i think is by removing the heatsink and then painting it, that way you can keep your PCB safe. Because, if you just start spraypainting you will paint the fins of the heatsink as well wich won't be good for the heat dissipation. Normally removing the heatsink is not that hard, you just need to be carefull and remember how to put it all back in place (note: your warranty will be voided most of the times)

wait, are you asking me this?
-
Yeah, I made them in Solidworks, thats handy because I will use a lasercutter.
-
Yup, I did that on purpose
