Battery worked fine last night. Dunno if it might help but it's been raining since last night,and it keeps raining, there's no leak in the house that can touch the laptop but overall the city its pretty humid/cold.

So, tldr me and my friend got windows update last night (around 18 hours ago), we both turned on our pcs (now), mines a desktop, both on win10 1809, now, his laptop currently its mostly dead, my desktop its fine (i hope). His laptop is an asus s510u, the "killed" part of it is that after win update turned off the laptop, on first or 999999 boot up later the gpu seems to be dead, no image, no backlight, no manufacturer logo, no bios, no nothing. Looking up in my desktop at least i got these uptades : KB4465065 KB4503327 KB4503308, now, the computer seems to be working, fan spin, hdd sounds to be working, tried plugging in a usb device after 20 minutes (we thought it might be in windows by that time), but nothing, no sound after plugging in a new usb device. Tried plugging in through hdmi a secondary monitor and nothing. So here we are looking for any ideas to unfuck this laptop, cause being a uni student 3 weeks away from finals and loosing his laptop seems like a horrible situation. PS: my desktop has a pending update from last night "Advanced Micro Devices, Inc 2.2.0.115" that's all that it says. (im running ryzen 1700 16gb 2800 gtx1060 6g 2tbhdd 120ssd) PS2: his laptop is running an m.2 as boot drive and 2.5"hdd for mass storage

So i'm planning to buy an m.2 nvme ssd to my laptop, but i haven't seen anywhere if its nvme compatible. does anyone knows?

Corsair 550m, all drivers up to date, uninstalled the drivers and noticed the problem stopped, reinstalled and came back.

So i have a weird issue when i use my pci wifi card (TPLink PCI-E N150 TL-WN781ND). When i activate it i start to have some "blackouts" on my main monitor wich its conected through display port->adapter->vga (lgL192ws), but my secondary monitor works just fine (through hdmi) (samsung tv 32"). By blackout i mean the image goes to black but it "keeps working", for example, half of this post i wrote it with the monitor "in black mode" cus i couldnt see. Sometimes the image goes to black around 5-10 sec (most of the time it goes to black 2-3 sec) and the monitor goest to energy save mode, but then it comes back up. Most of the time the wifi is turned off to properly use my main monitor. Update, store said that the drive had mechanical failures, sent back to manufacturer, i hope i can get a new hdd or refund.

Bought new one from store, the drive with 1% available is my old WD, i bought a second one. (total of 3 disks, SSD, WD BLUE FULL, WD BLUE DEAD? )

So, last night i bought a WD BLUE 1TB hdd (3.5"), came home totally hyped to finally have some real storage space to realize that when i plugged in the HDD it sounded poorly, kind of a clicking noise. On top of that the BIOS (up to date) didn't recognize the HDD but disk manager in windows did, BUT, i couldn't activate the disk, error " the system cannot find the specified file", after that i noticed that even the disk showed up in disk manager it says "disk 2 unknown uninitialized". SO, i went through the usual troubleshooting, tried different sata cables, power cables, sata ports, as portable drive in my laptop, same issue. Any ideas? Ryzen 1700 a320m grenade 16 gb 2667 ram 128 ssd 1tb WD BLUE hdd (not the new one, an old one that works) zotac 1060 (6gb) corsair cs550m Win 10 ps: pictures in spanish, bought the hdd arround 730pm, tried installing it on my pc around 840 pm.

If anyone would be kind enough to help me find the best laptop for work, my budget is up to 2000usd, usually I use Rhinoceros 5, 3DSmax and autocad (sometimes photoshop and illustrator). I require a 15" laptop to take with me, for traveling issues it cant be bigger.
