  1. So, I've been holding off upgrading my CPU for quite a while. My current CPU is still chugging along but it's no longer ideal. My PC is mainly used for gaming and general use. I game at 1440p. My question is whether I'm nuts to go for a 3700X with my use case. Will I really gain any benefit from it now or in the future? Is there an Intel offering I should be considering? Current Specs: i5 4670k @ stock 16gb Kingston DDR3 1600mhz Gigabyte GTX 1080 8gb @ stock 120gb SSD 1tb HDD 600w Corsaire PSU I appreciate all advice
  2. Thanks for thelp. I think it might be a waste to upgrade on the same platform. I will likely wait until after Christmas and change the mobo, CPU, and RAM. Any suggestions for a new CPU to compliment the system? In the meantime, I'll monitor temps and give the system a good clean. One odd thing I noticed was that the cutscenes in the single player campaign seemed to be chugging a bit too.
  3. System: i5 4670k @ stock 16gb Kingston DDR3 1600mhz Gigabyte GTX 1080 8gb @ stock 120gb SSD 1tb HDD 600w Corsaire PSU Settings: 1440p DX11 Future frame rendering on High graphics preset. Problem; I'm experiencing some pretty extreme FPS drops. In Grand Operations, I will load in and begin the round with between 70 - 80FPS. However, when the action starts, it hovers between 40 - 55FPS and sometimes drops as low as 23FPS. I'm aware that the processor isn't ideal for the game, however, I've heard of people using similar setups and achieving a solid 60FPS. Do I simply just need a new processor or is something else going wrong?
  4. This is great news. I'm still running an R9 280X and I'm consistently suprised by how well it performs on newer titles.
