  1. No sound is coming out from the speakers or the headphone jack. I've tried every driver available for the sound card and no luck. I've read that the problem might be caused by a buggy bios, so rolling back to an earlier revision might solve the issue. Has anybody encountered this problem before and how did you resolved it? I want to resolve this issue because my main used for this laptop will be video calling. Latest bios installed, running windows 10 latest but I've also tried ubuntu and linux mint, both present the same issue.
  2. I wouldn't. It's just what is posted on the site. You gotta understand that, where I live, PC parts are expensive and used parts are hard to come by. This 1700x combo is actually the only one been offered.
  3. Hi, I currently own the first config oc to 4.2 ghz. I mainly use it for gaming and general accounting. This might change in a few weeks, where I would need more computing power. A post on a PC parts trade website offers to trade the second config. Would you recommend this swap?
  4. Hey guys, I need a word of advice My pc: i5 6600K Asus Z170-e 12gb ddr4 gtx 970 tt 600w psu So i followed the guide from ltt on skylake cpu overclock, changed the multiplier by 46 (a lot of users have reported achieving this frequency with easy) and adjusted the cpu voltage to 1.365 and not blue screen. After trying up to 1.39 v, It would crash on csgo about 3 minutes into a deathmatch. So I decided to lower the multiplier to 45 and lower the voltage, but still no stable oc after many attempts at different voltages. I'm starting to believe that I lost the silicon lottery and my chip will only do 44. The first time I tried 44, I started at 1.355, after testing on aida 64 and csgo, decided to reduce the voltage by 0.005. Now I', running 44 at 1.34 and still stable. Am I doing it right? also, the cpu voltage on bios is never actually been represented on either hwinfo, cpuz or aida 64, is this normal? I'm attaching a screenshot.
  5. It's the best I can do with limited budget and in a country in which the 2nd hand market for computer parts is almost non-existing
  6. Allow me to elaborate: the Mobo I bought is a Asus b150mc-d3, which supports ddr3 ram, and this is on purpose due to the fact that ddr4 ram is expensive and rarely avaible on 2nd hand market. The 6700, if avaible costs around 220 USD used. There is one listing for a 7700 at around 140 USD, but I doubt my Mobo supports this processor due to the ram now being ddr4. Correct me if I'm wrong pls
  7. Gaming mostly, also accounting and content creation in the near future. Sounds cool
  8. I need a word of advice: I'm currently running a i7 3770 with a h61 chipset mobo. My main reason for upgrading is USB 3 and sata 3, which are only avaible on higher end chipset mobos which are unavaible on my country (believe me, I've searched). Today I purchased a b150 Mobo with an i3 6098p processor for a very good price, which I'm planning to update to either a 6500 (cheaper and I can buy it right away) or wait for a 6700 (double the price and unavaible right now) Any thoughts?
  9. I'll try, but I don't know if I can flash the bios without it posting
  10. Hi guys I know there probably are like a 1000 different topics on Mobo troubleshooting, but I think I'm on the point where I've gone through all normal troubleshooting steps and might need more expert advice. I recently bought this board mainly to have the top of the line experience even thou is an older platform. First time I set it up, it would send me straight to code 55 on the ram slot nearest to the socket. I talked to the seller and he offered a refund and to take a look at it. Turns out there were some bent pins on the socket, so he bent them back and sent me a video of the board posting normally. Bought it again from him and rebuilt my system. It posted normally and when I was about to install windows, I decided to clear the cmos using the button on the back of the board to get all config to default and start from scratch. After that, the board will send me straight to code 32 and bootlloops, only to post again after installing a slower generic ram. Then I installed my current ram, set xmp profile, and all fine. Then, when I finally had everything pluged in again, I went back to square 1 with post code 32 and bootlloops. I've tried reseatting everything. Booting with the bare minimum connected, changed ram. Nothing seems to work. Now I've left the board with nothing plugged and with the battery out, hoping this will solve something, thou I'm sure is just a waste of time. Does anybody have any idea how to solve this. Here are my pc's specs: Core i7-3770 (no k) 2*4gb Corsair vengeance ram 1866 MHz Coolermaster smartliquid 120 mm water-cooler 240 ssd wd green 2 tb hdd wd black Thermaltake white 600 w PSU Gigabyte Gtx 970 g1 gaming Any help is greatly appreciated.
  11. Hello, I need some advice regarding these graphics cards. My pc today: i7-3770 ecs B75H2-m4 2*4GB corsair vengance 1600 mhz evga gtx 960 ftw 2gb Thermaltake smart 600w 240 gb wd green ssd 2 tb wd black hdd I'm playing all games 1080p high settings with my 960, but shadow of the tomb raider wont pass 40 fps, which is why I want to upgrade the gpu (cpu usage is 30-40%, while gpu usage is 99%). the prices for these cards are the same in my country (220 usd used) I've read that these cards perform very similarly in almost all games, been the 1060 ahead by 7%, so the 1060 is a better buy, but the aesthetics of the 970 strix are really appealing, also considering that the 1060 is a mini card, and my case is rather big, so I like the beefier look of the 970. any thoughts?
