  1. In order to exploit this, do they need physical access to the machine?
  2. 2, 24 inch 240hz 1080p monitors. especially with streaming in mind but if not, another screen to the side is always nice to have. Get rid of the monitor stands the comes with the monitors, and use an vesa desk arm to free up desk space for keyboards and larger mousemats, esp concerning depth space. The feet of monitor stands can take up a lot of space, plus this lets people easily move the screen to their preferred distance without having to worry about where the monitor feet are. Also frees up desk space for audio interfaces/DACs if needed. Something like this; https://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasics-Single-Monitor-Display-Mounting/dp/B00MIBN16O/ref=sr_1_11_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1536264065&sr=8-11-spons&keywords=amazon+vesa&psc=1 Look at the images to see what desk space you get back using these instead of monitor stands. Also, don't put any keyboard or mice on the desk (maybe also the mousepad too), instead just ensure there are 2-4 usb slots via a hub (external or inbuilt to a monitor) so when someone goes to a computer, they can bring their own keyboard and mouse, or choose from a selection from a shelving unit or something so people can just pick a keyboard and mouse of their preference to use (kind of like your headphone wall you did a video on, a while back) This way, anyone can use any computer much more comfortably rather than having to deal with keyboards already in place on the desk you are using, since you are using what you'd want to use. (also good for people to try different keyboards/mice to see what they prefer and might buy for themselves)
  3. Sounds like a more expensive version of the Titan V. They'll get right on that!
  4. So with the 2080ti right from launch, should we expect something better than a 2080ti down the line like "ti" models usually were? A 2090? 2080ti²? Or do you think that they'll just add a bunch of cards in-between the selection released.
  5. Probably to see if he just ripped it off google images somewhere, kinda like an ad for a computer with a random "looks good rgbfied" stock photo computer for a picture to lure in morons.
  6. Ok, you didn't need to post several times. It is a refurbished product, which usually means it is not brand new, but it's near enough to being new. An example would be someone bought it, didn't like how it felt to use and returned it. it's just a way to sell products that wouldn't be able to be sold as new anymore. It also could mean that the product had a defect and was returned, but the said defect has now been fixed, and is up for sale as refurbished. In simple terms, most of the time, a refurbished product is not brand new, but nor is it "used" as most stuff sold on ebay. Whether it is actually a refurb or not is another question entirely.
  7. You'll need an audio interface of some kind which has female XLR ports for inputs. Also to keep in mind, if you get a XLR to anything but a male XLR, you, AFAIK, won't be able to supply phantom power to the mic, which means your mic will be super quiet or even outright won't work. Ideally you'd get a USB audio interface with XLR inputs, which also supplies phantom power. The Focusrite Scarlett range is an example; https://uk.focusrite.com/scarlett-range For your price point, I'm not that invested into the world of audio tech, but it seems you'd be best off with a decent USB mic rather than try to get a XLR and audio interface. Hopefully someone who has more knowledge of this tech can help you better.
  8. It isn't heavy but your setting might still be too much for your specs to handle. keep turning the quality down until it no longer lags. Also doing everything on a single HDD doesn't help either, from what I know if you record to HDD it should be a dedicated drive and not a boot drive. Try this, Record a 30 secondish clip of gameplay, using CQP and at 25. if that doesn't lag, then try 24, repeat until you get to a point that it starts to have lag in the recordings, and then revert to a number where it isn't right on the edge of what your PC can handle. So if it starts to be crap recordings at say 17, don't just then stick it on 18 and call it a day, put it onto 20.
  9. Stick to 720p 30fps, and use the x264 encoder and you should be fine. Make sure you do have adequate cooling for the CPU.
  10. having the cpu usage preset on "faster" could be the culprit, that can be quite taxing. Also, check your settings in the video tab. They may not be set to 1080p and thus why you are not recording at 1080p Also, try recording with CQP instead of CBR. From what I've seen for recording CQP is better than CBR. Use something between 15-25 with 15 being better quality but more filesize, and 25 being lesser (note I said lesser not worst) quality but smaller file sizes.
  11. I'm not completely up to speed about DisplayPort and ThunderBolt 3 but I think you'd still need 2 cables regardless if the TB3 port can handle all the data with one cable, because the receiving DP port on the monitor won't be able to keep up with one cable? I might be wrong.

    144hz

General tasks, not so much. You'd notice the mouse moving much smoother, and dragging windows about but that's about it. Gaming, you'd only notice a difference if you are running fps above 60, by a decent margin. I start to notice a big difference around 80 fps, then a bit more at around 100, and then diminishing returns after that. if you saw 2 rigs side by side one running 60fps on 60hz and the other running 144fps at 144hz you'd notice it quite a bit, it's like buttery smooth compared to 60hz. Best way to help envision it so I found, for those that can't get access to a 144hz monitor to test it out, result may vary. it's kinda like the difference between playing a game at 60hz, and watching something already rendered at 60 fps, it's a hell of a lot smoother.
  13. Just something I whipped up on pc part picker with a dedicated gpu (only a 1050ti, I assume it fares better than the VEGA iGPU but someone correct me if I'm wrong) Should be great for overwatch at 1080p 60hz. (this is not a guarantee that it will be, a quick search on google yields result that it will run at 1080p 60hz) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qMkPsZ example vid 1 example vid 2 example vid 3 with other games included, but has overclocked cpu and gpu.
  14. What problems could occur from this, as I currently have 2 computers in different locations (not in the same house, in different houses though shouldn't be too much of a difference) and was toying with the idea of not buying another GPU and just taking my 1060 back and forth, provided I take care, such as in an anti static bag, and probably reboxed in it's original box, and secured down and not loose to move about in a car. Would I be able to realistically not expect any problems caused by this?
