  1. Thanks for your replies! Honnestly I am not really interested in a monitor upgrade. I understand the 1070 is too much for 1080p @ 60 Hz. I had previously a 1060 and upgraded because I found a good deal on the 1070 and I mined a little bit (no shame). This benchmark shows some pretty good improvement in multicore applications. Honnestly, I think the era where single thread>multi core is over. Any game I played the last 2 years used equally all of the cores. Games like FC5, AC:O, Crysis 3, The Witcher 3 and KCD (this badly optimized mofo is at 90% all the time) made use of a lot of CPU ressources
  2. My config is: I5 7400 MSI H110M PRO-D 2x 8gb DDR4 2400mhz GTX 1070 I play on a 1080p display @ 60hz. I am thinking about upgrading the CPU because those 4 locked threads are really starting to show their age. I don't stream, but there are still some games that push the CPU to 100% all the time. Where I live I don't have a lot of choice of hardware sadly and the prices are crazy. I am thinking about buying a Ryzen processor because it has a good price/performance ratio. Motherboards available are: Asus Prime A320M-K MSI A320M PRO-VD Plus MSI B350 Gaming Plus Asus Prime B350-Plus I would love to go for the A320 as it's substantially cheaper (with currency conversion) but I am not sure about the overclocking capabilities. On the Asus site, it is mentionned that the mb permits OC but other people say it is not possible. What is the final answer? CPU availables are: Ryzen 1400 Ryzen 5 1500X Ryzen 5 1600 Ryzen 5 1600X Ryzen 7 1700 Ryzen 7 2700 I am eyeing the R5 1600 vs R7 1700. I already have a pretty good cooler (Arctic Freezer 12 CO). The 1700 is really pricey but I am afraid that the 1600 does not provide enough performance to justify the upgrade. So I am really torn here. What are your advices? Concerning RAM, I will keep my current one because I don't have enough $ although I heard that ryzen likes fast memory. Thanks guys!
  3. Did not think about the mount, that's nice! What about the difference in contrast? How big of an impact does it have?
  4. Hello guys, this is my first post in the forums although I am subscribed to the channel and watched 99.99% of the videos. I am planning to upgrade my 9 years old (!!) Samsung Syncmaster 2033 20" 1600x900 monitor to a 1080p display. I use my computer essentially for gaming (mainly FPS) and I have a GTX 1070. The problem is where I live there is not a lot of choice so I have narrowed my choices to these 24" monitors: the Dell SE2417HG and the Samsung CF390. The Dell monitor is around 15$ cheaper so not that much of a difference. The main differences between them are: CF390 has better contrast 3000:1 vs 1000:1 for the Dell CF390 is curved Dell is marketed as "gaming" monitor (is this even important??) CF390 panel type is VA vs Dell is TN CF390 has brightness of 250cd/m2 vs 300 for the Dell CF390 has 4ms response time vs 2ms CF390 has FreeSync (I know I have an nvidia card but could upgrade to an amd in the future??) vs nothing for the Dell There is also this Samsung LS24F350FHMXUE but it has the same specs as the CF390 and costs the same as the Dell (but then might as well go with the curved monitor). So what do you think guys? Thanks in advance!
