  1. What would be the best way to coo, an i7-8700 or the 8700k? I do plan on overclocking either one however I am new to the pc scene so I'm very unfamiliar with cooling hardware.
  2. I heavily considered Ryzen! However I'm looking to also stream off the same system as well as inevitably add a sound card and mbox for some audio production. Intel's core processors at this point I believe to be my best option. Yea I think this will be the route I do end up taking, however I'm also thinking of a way to keep the i7 cool as I will be overclocking. Would water cooling be the best option or would just a radiator and good fans be ok?
  3. well I Appreciate all of the comments and help you guys, I really do. So it sounds like this to me, "Keep the current set up, then purchase a Z370 along with an 8th gen I7-8700 processor. With the new mother board I'll need a new case as well, as the current case is an mATX mobo case, so i'll likely purchase a large/tall case. Then I'll use the Z370 with the I7-8700, GTX 1060 along with my current 8gb DDR4-2133 (plus an extra 8gb stick I would add) After that I'd upgrade my power supply to a 650 Watt, keep my 1tb Hard Drive, add a 250gb SSD, and then exchange the current gpu to GTX 1070TI. I will add a sound card later to do audio editing ( a hobby for audio production) Does that sound liker a good build? I will eventually upgrade to a 32gb RAM Memory in the farther future.
  4. aah ok thanks for the help guys I really appreciate it, but will an i5-7400 work be compatible with with a z370?. I would only use the i5 until i obtained the 8700 then swap the one out for the other, that would be fine yes? and this would now be on the z370 since it is the one compatible for the 8700
  5. When looking at the Z270 boards, will the current DDR4-2133 RAM memory stick still work if on a board that states it has a DDR4-3800 slots? Or is that just the maximum mhz stick it it can run? also, will my current 7th gen Intel I5-7400 still be compatible with this Mother board until it is upgraded to an 8th gen I7-8700? and what kind of power supply should I be looking to have just to run this mother board and set up? p.s. Currently running a GTX 1060 which I'm assuming will work with a Z270, am I wrong to assume that? will be wanting to upgrade to either a 1080 or Titan X
  6. Awesome thank you so much for your help! When looking at the z270 boards, will the current 2133 memory stick still works if one a board that states it has a DDR4-3800 slots? Or is that just the maximum mhz stick it it can run? Also, what do I need to be looking for when it comes to the GPU's? I will still run my NVIDIA GTX 1060 however I want to eventually upgrade either to a 1080ti or a Titan X.
  7. Bought an HP Omen 880-224 series, here for the specifications. https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05389962 I'm looking to do upgrades to this myself in the near future such as another additional 8gb DDR4 Memory stick. I know the current UDimm is a DDR4-2133 PC4-17000, yet the other Dimm Socket specs says it fits a PC4-19200 DDR4-2400. Being new to the pc world, what is the difference between the two slots and what should I look for in my next DDR4 Ram card? Does it need to be the DDR4-2400, if so would this work?https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233982 Next, I'm wanting to upgrade to the 8th Gen Intel Core I7-8700 Processor do to it's 6 cores and multi-threading. I'm wanting to do this upgrade to help the computers performance when I stream While Gaming. Now the Odense2-K Motherboard says it supports many of the 7th gen I7 KabyLake processors https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05355651 . Would I need to upgrade to a new mother board just to support the 8th Gen I7-8700? If so, What main specs do I want to look for that will work with the current GTX 1060, its Current DDR4-2133 PC4-17000, as well as my 7th Gen I5-7400 (As I would like to still game on the pc as Parts come in. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!
