    Thank you OP for this wonderful thread. @Asusrescuepassword This works like a charm even in 2022. I used this trick for my ASUS Vivibook S510UN, and I was able to access my boot menu with the first trial password itself.

So please any fellow Mechanical engineering student suggest me as to whether I should go for a laptop with an i5 8300h and gtx 1050 graphics card or for an i7 without discrete graphics.
