  1. The block is new and I can't run prime bcuz it shuts down immediately after booting into windows.
  2. Yes I applied an entire tube of .5 grams of kryonaut before putting the block on and i can here the pump humming.
  3. I recently finished my first waterloop and cleaned it completely with Mayhems blitz 1 and 2. Now after flushing it out and trying too boot the system the cpu reaches over 90 degrees after about 30 secs to a minute in bios. Does anyone know why that could be?
  4. That was my original plan but I think I'll try out your method.
  5. Yeah, I've looked at those aquacomputer pumps and that usb interface seems promissing but the thing is that my main reason for wanting pwm is that I want to control everything through speedfan and I haven't found anything that suggests that I'll be able to do that through usb.
  6. So I've been planning my build for a while now and I want it to be my 24/7 main rig. I want it to be watercooled and from all the research I've done the Eheim 1046 seems to be the most reliable pump out there. Now to my problem; there don't seem to be any versions of the pump that can be controlled through the 4 pin pump header on the motherboard. Did I miss a version or is there a possibility to mod an existing model to be 4 pin controllable?
  7. hmm, I guess I'll have to take a closer look at the 1800x than. Thanks for the advice Y'all.
  8. I wasn't really planning on going sli since it seems like there won't be any support in upcoming games but I was rather thinking about in addition to the nvme drives and GPU maybe putting in a USB controller.
  9. It's a corsair 750d case with the hx1200i installed inside. I want more than 24 PCIe lanes because I want to be able to install more than just a gpu and 2 m.2 nvme drives.
  10. See, my dad's a huge cinephile and so he got a big 4k tv relatively early on but now that 4k hdr TVs are becoming more available he wanted an upgrade but also didn't want to discard a perfectly functional TV. Furthermore, I didn't want to buy a prebuilt since a friend of mine who recently upgraded his system sold me his 750d and corsair hx1200i for 100€ and I wanted to maybe built on that foundation. I thought about maybe pairing a 1080ti with a 1900x since I want more than 24 PCI-E lanes and more than 6 cores but also don't want to risk shorting out an 800€ CPU just to get it to run at manageable temperatures.
  11. Shoot, I forgot to mention that my only available monitor at this point in time is an -also hand me down- 60" 4k tv and I had planned to use it for my pc.
  12. Hi guys I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to building computers and I was wondering if I should just buy a gpu for my current hand me down pc which is as the title suggests a system with an A8-3850 running at 3.6 ghz and only integrated graphics or if I should get a new system entirely. The main purpose of it would be 4k gaming but I also wanted to try out streaming and maybe some light video-editing.
