  1. well, it is pretty much "normal keyboard everyone is used to" so that's why I'm kinda worried about the fact all the laptops in Amazon France specify they come with an AZERTY keyboard unless it's just a software thing, but that seems like it'd be pointlessly confusing
  2. Title basically, a friend is getting a laptop soon in France but it'd be much more comfortable to get a QWERTY one since he doesn't usually type in french (and I read AZERTY sucks even for the language it was made for) Any good places to import from or something? His budget is around 1000 Euro so we were looking at stuff like Asus ROG and Dell Inspiron, (basically anything with at least a 960M) but on amazon US it says they don't ship outside the continental US.
  3. He's not going from the USA to France, he's going from South America (where a crappy intel celeron laptop is like 600usd because why not, and importing from outside is essentially impossible with electronics) to France, so an "overpriced" laptop in France would actually be (much) cheaper than if bought here lol.
  4. Yeah I had the feeling that might be the case.. Though apparently dollar price is kinda similar to euro so 1200USD is still apparently more than €1000.
  5. My friend's laptop is getting old and very slow, and he wants a new one that can be used for gaming (doesn't necessarily need to run everything maxed out at 60fps, just....run them). He'll be buying it while in France, so if you recommend one try to see if it can be bought in France, or shipped to France (though I assume this shouldn't be much of a problem) He'll be buying it at the beginning of 2017, so if there's any awesome laptop that isn't out yet, then it's automatically not an option. His budget will be around 1000USD, maybe up to like 1200USD top, but no more than that. Now then, for a list of necessary or unnecessary things: Screen size and resolution do not matter (though I'd assume most laptops at this price range will be at least 1080p) It needs to be able to run games decently (even if on low-medium). He'll be playing LoL, Overwatch, Bioshock, etc (mostly online games really, not so many AAA new releases) "Portable", what I mean by this isn't regarding size necessarily, but it'd be nice if it wasn't the thickest, heaviest laptop in existence, as it'd become a problem to carry it around so much. Durable: He's most likely not gonna get a new one anytime soon after buying this one, so it needs to be something that can last 2+ years. (by this I mean, it needs to be somethign that won't become completely obsolete in just 2 years) But yeah idk, to put it simple: recommend me the best (gaming) laptops you know for 1000-1200USD
  6. It's technically my old cheap PC I had before the one I have now. The case is mid tower but it's a generic crap one.
  7. So it's my brother's birthday soon and he told me he wants a gpu for his PC, and as the only one in the house with a minimum knowledge on PC parts, he (or rather, everyone) asked me to decide which to buy. His PSU is pretty much as generic and horrible as possible http://puu.sh/cC3j5/f96e7c46dc.jpg so I thought the best choice would be a GTX 750 as it is, if I'm not mistaken, the card that has lower watt usage. Considering PC hardware is overpriced where I live (and hard to find sometimes), there's not really many other options: http://www.gameron.com.ar/index.php?id_product=236&controller=product&id_lang=1 http://www.gameron.com.ar/index.php?id_product=237&controller=product&id_lang=1 From those two above, which one should I get? I'm kinda confused about the "ZONE" thing. He wants to be able to play Fifa 15 decently (not necessarily maxed out) and other games like CSGO. His PC Specs are: AMD A8-3870K, 8Gb Ram, the crappy PSU I linked a picture to above, and sadly I don't know if his monitor is 768p or 1080p. Is the GTX 750 "Zone" good enough for Fifa 15 (needing a better gpu in case the game is horribly optimized doesn't count) or should I get the 750TI? Here's the links for other options (R7 250X, R7 260X and R7 265) but I don't know if it's a good idea due to the PSU. http://www.gameron.com.ar/index.php?id_product=287&controller=product&id_lang=1 http://www.gameron.com.ar/index.php?id_product=162&controller=product&id_lang=1 http://www.gameron.com.ar/index.php?id_product=259&controller=product&id_lang=1 Notes: - Of course, it'd be better to spend as little as possible, but if it's legitimately worth it to pay the extra $400 for the 750Ti, it's fine. - This may be kind of important; the people selling the GPUS Do not validate the warranty if the product is damaged for using a generic psu. So because of this, I want to make sure the PSU can handle it (at least for a while until he can get a better one) - The current USD/Argentine peso exchange ratio is 1:14,3 so $2200 would be $153USD
  8. So, I got a 3DS XL recently and I need to buy moar games. I wanted to have people from the PC Master Race to give me their opinions and recommendations about several 3DS games. I live in Argentina so 3DS games are kinda expensive, but yolo. The games I'm mostly considering are: - Super Mario 3D Land ($539ARS) - TLOZ: A Link Between Worlds ($599ARS) - Etrian Odyssey IV ($599ARS) - Mario Kart 7 ($599ARS) - Bravely Default ($645ARS) - Fire Emblem: Awakening ($699ARS) Right now I have a "budget" of $540ARS, but I'm most likely going to get $140ARS very soon. So let's say my "budget" is $680ARS. Which game would you choose out of those six? Why? In what order would you get these games if you were to get all of them one by one? Are Bravely Default and Fire Emblem: Awakening worth the extra money? Note: My birthday is next month so, whatever I choose, I'm likely to get another 3DS game in a month. Sorry if I'm not supposed to post this kind of thing in LTT Forums ;-;
  9. I forgot I didn't get notifications unless people quote me so I thought no one had commented lol. Thanks for the recommendations. I'll show them to him and see what he prefers.
  10. So, my friend told me he wants to buy a new laptop (he has an oldish one that he bought for like 200usd on one trip to USA) and he doesn't want to spend much money. He'll be mostly using it for LoL and Minecraft probably, but he wants something that can run stuff (low settings at 720p and not necessarily the best fps, Idk how but he can live with that) I know that most laptops in that price range only have integrated graphics, but still I'd like to have people recommend me the best laptops around that price range that can work as pseudo gaming. - Screen resolution doesn't matter - Screen Size doesn't matter (I think his laptop is 13'' anyway) - Has to be able to run League of Legends and Minecraft at humanly acceptable fps and graphical settings - If possible no more than $600 unless it's absolutely worth it He told me he wants to play Tomb Raider (again, hate to repeat, but he'd be happy if it plays at 720p and low settings as long as it's around 30fps) so please tell me if there is no such thing as a $600ish laptop that can do this ._. TL;DR: What's the best "gaming" (LoL/Minecraft/non-graphically intensive games) laptop you can recommend for $600usd or less
  11. Argentina. http://www.gameron.com.ar/index.php - http://www.mercadolibre.com.ar/ You could try to find stuff here to see the price. We use Argentine Pesos, which are basically a 1:10 exhange to USD. (1USD = around $10ARS)
  12. My dad asked me to calculate the aproximate price of a PC for an acquaintance. That computer would be used for rendering (he said "Rhino software, which I assume is the Rhinoceros I found on google) and other somewhat heavy rendering with other softwares. There isn't a specific budget and the PC would be meant to do these tasks as best as possible and not be a "budget rendering machine" at all. So, without going too far (my country is expensive anyway, so don't even bother mentioning GTX titans). What parts should I pick? The only thing I thought of so far was an Intel i7 4770 (non K since I'm 99% sure he won't overclock) What motherboards should I consider? (Again, MOST likely not gonna overclock cpu) How much ram? Storage? (I thought of 2Tb HDD and a 128gb SSD maybe) GPU? (R9 290X or GTX 780 or 780Ti, price wise, I'd say the best price/performance in my country is the 780) PSU? (I'd say a good 650W like the XFX one in my pc should work, but still want everyone's opinion) Case? (This is kind of not so important, but it should be a "somewhat professional looking" case, black and simple. (Maybe something Bitfenix since there's almost/none Corsair cases where I live). Best OS choice? Note: 1- GPU brands would most likely be either Sapphire or Zotac as those are the cheapest here, EVGA is almost literally x2 the price of zotac (I think Zotac has a thing here and has less import taxes, no idea), so when thinking of GPUS, think of the gpu itself and ignore manufacturers. 2- since there's not a great variety of technology in my country, I'd appreciate if you could mention more than just one choice for everything, so in case one of them is impossible to find, I have other options as well. 3- as I said at the beginning, there's no exact budget, however, don't think of THE rendering machine with THE best components on earth.
  13. Is the i3 2330M a decent laptop cpu for web browsing, watching videos in HD and light gaming (indie games). (I know it's just 2nd gen i3 but it's on my brother's laptop that he offered to sell me for a decent price so I want to know if it's nice enough, and if it helps in anything, it's Asus, has 8gb of ram and windows 7 ultimate 64 bit ( think)
  14. My brother offered to sell me his laptop for $3000 (around 300usd). It's an ASUS laptop (not sure what exact model) with an i3 2330M, 8gb of ram and I think Windows 7 ultimate 64 bits. I know this is kind of vague so; is the i3-2330M decent? My PC has an i5 3570K and honestly I don't even need a laptop (I'm actually planning on buying a Nexus 7 2nd gen (32gb one) which is $4300, so it's more than the laptop), but I want to know if it'd be a sensible purchase, considering the cheapest Asus laptop with an i3 in my country (brand new) is $6700+, meaning $3000 is less than half what a new one would be. Although I kinda still prefer getting the tablet (I never had an android device + it's more portable than a laptop), I THINK it's a good deal anyway. So. repeating what I said before, is the i3-2330M a decent cpu for stuff like web browsing and watching videos (Idk what the resolution is but I'd assume 768p) and MAYBE playing games? (Indie games like Super Meat Boy, The Binding of Isaac, etc, not too graphically intensive) (btw is this in the right section of the forums? I just saw that there was a "mobile devices" section and gaming isn't the focus of this post) Sorry if I screwed up. Change it to the correct place if necessary. Note: I made a new post under CPU section asking specifically about the cpu in this post. However, I don't know how to delete this and just deleting the text may end up in a blank post ._. so, I apologize for my brain fart)
  15. I have an i5 3570K and R9 270 and it's pretty nice. I played Bioshock Infinite maxed out, Tomb Raider in decent high settings (and TressFX on), CS:GO maxed out (except for vsync), Skyrim with HD textures in ultra. (all this in 1080p) I don't know what games you'll be playing but the R9 270 (or R9 270X) is good. However, if you find a cheap GTX 760, go for it since I believe it's slightly more powerful. And if you go for AMD, I think the Sapphire Vapor-X is nice. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=25511&cPath=877
