  1. This comes under my radar as well. I tried to look for any programs that may be a malware or just suspicious in general. However, most files that look odd to me are basically all system files. Whenever I turn off pc, even right after boot, windows says some programs are in use and that task manager thingy stays there for maybe 10s or so before it turns itself off. I would prefer a reinstall of windows, but I dont want to redo that whole process to set up those settings again since I might end up changing things that i dont want to in the first place.
  2. my c drive SSD is probably the oldest component of my pc, how do I completely copy over one system ssd (c) drive to a brand new ssd? This is my suspicion, but I do not know if there's a safe way to transfer a c drive ssd without changing any settings. I checked the health of that ssd 3 or 4 times with diskinfo and all of them showed up fine. Its probably 6-7 years old, I may have to change it eventually.
  3. Guys, I've been having this weird issue with my pc that is it lags after first boot (not responsive and the whole pc lags kinda). I dont think it still lags if I boot a seond time, but the lag does last for quite some time after the first boot. A simple fix is to reboot a second time and the lag is gone. spec is 5900x, 3080ftw ultra, corsair 32gb ram I suspect 5900x may be the cause, because I recently ran into a bluescreen after boot and it is not overclocked in any way. Could this be a power supply issue, I have an old evga 850w that is like 6 years old. Moreover, I ran into a weird issue today, and it also happened after the first boot (I did not boot second time). My main and side monitor went to black screen then blank screen and I see my mouse cursor on my side monitor with a blank screen. Then after a few seconds, everything went back to normal, browser and desktop etc. I opened my task manager to check immediately afterwards, and everything is on low percentage load and the only odd thing I see is one tab with high power usage. It's hella freaking weird.
  4. I will give that a look, I am just not too sure whether a capture can recognize a monitor that supports 4k downscaling to 2k. I used to think playing console games directly from monitor is far superior than playing thru the capture card. However, even with my old capture card, I have no issue in gaming, no lantency and I don't find quiality being any inferior. I will ask avermedia support for confirmation.
  5. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07TVSBL7H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I tried this splitter which claimed supporting 4k60 hdr and 1080p, turns out the issue is the same. I got purple screen filter when I turn hdr on while gettting the signal from my 1080capture card, the 4k60 hdmi signal is working fine.
  6. It seems you can either only play with 4k60hz hdr or you can stream to a capture while playing but with hdr off. Seems like you can only record your gameplay with hdr off. Edit (actually I have no idea now)
  7. yea I figured, I am browsing thru amazon and hoping the one that I choose works. the thing about 4k capture card is that my monitor is 2k, and I am not sure if the capture card will allow me to get 4k hdr output from ps5. my current setup is 2k 144hz hdr-off on my pc, so even if I get 4k hdr from ps5, I dont think the hdr will work on my monitor since it's turned off. (tbh I dont know how that works even if it somehow works) Both ps5 and my pc is hooked up to the same monitor and my plan is basically switch to hdmi port to ps5 and then have my pc record the 1080p output from ps5 so that I dont need to scarifice any quality in order to record the game and as for now I dont plan to record 4k videos from ps5 anytime soon.
  8. yea, just wanna get it future proofed. My currently need is to duplicate the signal from my ps5 to a 2k monitor that supports downscalling from 4k and a 1080p capture card, hdmi2.0 definitelyt works. I am currently looking for a splitter than can do 4k60hz hdr to output 1 and 1080p on output 2 simultanously.
  9. I want to acheive 1 hdmi 2.1 to 2 hdmi 2.1 connecting to 2 monitors simultaneously. I did a bit search on amazon and every single one I find is hdmi2.0b, is there one that supports hdmi 2.1?
  10. The gpu fan speed is at 50% and the noise is comparable to the gpu fan noise. I boost it because the sound isn't well captured by the phone It's the second part of the video that's kinda comparable to the actual environment. I've done so many tests in the past few days, I can guarantee the noise is from the psu and all psus make this kinda noise, just louder with seasonic psu. The tests are all done on open air bench
  11. you are probably right, but there has to be an explanation for this. What causes the sound, what potential risk will it bring? I dont really think there's anything plugged in into that circuit, maybe the wires are old? I guess I will jsut wait till the seasonic replacement unit arrives and see if there's any difference
  12. I can't be exactly sure. Sometimes there's that noise during idle sometimes there isn't any. What I am certain of is that they all definitely make this kinda noise during heavy load after some time. Not anywhere close to their max load, but considerably heavy load. The noise is a lot louder for seasonic psu. I tried with rm850 and rm850x, they both make this kinda noise during heavy load, but much lower sound level and it's definitely the noise that seasonic psu makes in the video
  13. I tried with corsair 850 and 850x and seasonic prime 1000w, they both appear to have this noise. all similar noise, it's just seasonic one is a lot louder. I personally think it is normal, but seasonic support said it was not expected and encourage me to do a RMA. I don't know at this point to be honest, because other psu from different brand make this kinda noise too, but lower. Those are all new. I only attach a ssd to that system for testing. I think I am just gonna rma and get a seasonic in hand supply after I made my depoist to ss to test out if the problem persists and then mail mine back to seasonic. I would just prefer that seasonic will do a full diagnose for me, at least let me know if it's faulty or has to do with something else. However, the shipping cost from CA to US will hurt a bit.
  14. Thank you, I talked to seasonic support and showed them this video. They told me it was not normal, "Thank you for contacting Seasonic. This noise doesn't seem to be expected. We would recommend to: Remove any power strip you may have between the PSU and the outlet. Double check the AC power cord is firmly plugged to PSU and outlet. Check another outlet. Any issue with your grid lately as this noise may be cause by issue on the grid as well. Please kindly let us know." Second email: " No, looks like the PFC doing this and it's not really normal. Monitor the next days if noise is getting louder or stop and then RMA your PSU." Should I be concerned? It's somewhere close to soundlevel of the fans. I dont care about the disturbing sounds, it just sounds like danger with its electric da da da noise.
