  1. So I got back to the Windows 10 installation screen. Right now I have the 1TB HDD showing and the 500GB SSD too. However, when I try selecting the SSD for installation the installer tells me that "Windows cannot be installed on this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS Menu"
  2. I'll try when I get back home, thanks for the quick tip! I'll get back to you ASAP
  3. Hey everyone! So I've received a friend's laptop, as he asked me to reinstall windows 10 on it. No biggie, right? WRONG. Apparently he installed an SSD in it and his system didn't pick it up. I thought it had to be initialized in Disk Management. I thought wrong. So I insert my little USB drive with the Media Creation Tool on it, and go to town in the windows installation prompts. 1st Error: Windows 10 can't be installed on the SSD, because apparently the BIOS settings are wrong, I proceeded to install Windows 10 on the HDD so we can at least have a system up and running. 2nd Error: After installation, Disk Management still doesn't see the SSD, neither does the Device Manager. Now my current pickle is: System will run on the HDD if SATA Controller Mode in BIOS is set to "Intel RST Premium" whatever that is, but not even the bios will pick up on the existence of the SSD(This meaning that if I try running the Media Creation Tool, the SSD won't be available there either). However, if I set the SATA Controller Mode into AHCI Mode, Both drives are picked up in the BIOS but the system immediately BSODs on Boot. Installation to the SSD is still not possible due to "Windows not being able to use it as a boot drive". Things I have tried so far: - Complete wipe and reinstallation of everything. -Using diskpart to format ssd into NTFS -Uninstalled/Reinstalled SATA Controller drivers -updated every possible driver there is. I'd really appreciate some help with this. It's quite urgent as the device in hand is a laptop primarily for work. Thanks to everyone in advance!
  4. Well It's a completely new machine, if they can't fix it, why wont they exchange it, or give me my money back, as I have requested numerous times already?
  5. 1. It's a laptop, so of course it will be a mobile chip 2. No it doesn't, it only shows me the error code thread_stuck_in_device_driver 3. I have tried: -reinstalling Windows completely, multiple times -removing, then installing drivers -updating drivers -searching windows update for any possible updates (with no luck) -Bios updated -checked performance in games if anything is bottlenecking, the answer is no, yet I can barely push 40-60 FPS in Rainbow 6 on minimal settings, when I was able to play on ultra 80FPS on a machine half this strong, even though my CPU and GPU are sitting at about 80% both -set laptop to performance mode, everywhere I could
  6. also, sorry if it's the wrong sub, I'd happily move it If I had to
  7. Dear Forums! I Have honestly lost all hope, this is my last pillar of help I might be able to get. So, the Story begins on August 28th of this year. I Have happily bought my new gaming machine which would be an ASUS TUF505DU/D/Whatever the last 2 letters are. Here are the specs: Ryzen 7 3750H 8GB RAM 512GB M.2 Samsung SSD GTX 1660Ti 6GB Now onto the problem I'm having. Since I have bought it, I am experiencing random BSOD errors, not influenced by the type of usage, be it gaming, consuming light media, writing, or even just having the PC in idle. The Error code is always the same (Thread_stuck_in_device_driver) I Have tried literally everything imaginable, and findable on the face of internet, that's why I'm turning to you guys and gals. Before you say "just use your guarantee, they'll repair it", I'm sad to dissapoint, but I have tried... several times. 7 times to be exact. The story is always the same: -I collect 3-4 crash reports (and pictures) of the BSOD errors -give the device in for repair -2 weeks later it returns with the message: "We are sorry, but we sadly couldn't diagnose the error described by you" (Of Course the only thing they did, at least in my eyes, is to reinstall Windows 10 for the 85th time) -rince and repeat Now, I'm sitting at my desk, contemplating to sue Asus for their negligent customer service, and absolutely horrible way of treating me and my problem. Please, If you have any advice, or way to help, I would be more than glad to listen, and try LITERALLY ANYTHING you might throw at me in order to fix my problem. It's been almost 4 months, since I practically don't have a daily driver at my disposal, and I'm more than a 100% sure the fault is not on my end. Asus, I'm thorougly dissapointed.
  8. Hey People! I have bought an asus TUF FX505DU laptop with the following specs: Ryzen 7 3750H with VEGA 10 integrated graphics Gtx 1660Ti 8GB 2666Mhz Ram 512GB M.2 Samsung SSD now my problem is, I feel like my laptop is terribly underperforming. I'm getting about 30-40 FPS in battlefield 1 at Low settings, with .1% lows as low as 15-17 FPS. Same thing with Rainbow Six Siege, or even light games such as Minecraft. All drivers are up-to-date I'm also getting BSOD crashes once or twice a day, with the error message THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER things I have already done: Reinstalled a fresh copy of windows Did a driver check with Driver Booster 6 Set everything I could to "Performance" mode Please help me, this has driven me nuts for the last 3-4 days, should I just reset my whole system and send it back under warranty?
  9. Solved! My neighbour hooked me up with a usb keyboard that doesn't require any drivers (aka a very cheap one), and it reacted to that. Thanks for the help anyway
  10. I tried all usb ports on the PC cmos reset already happened as well
  11. So, in the morning we had a power outage, and when I turned on my pc, i was greeted with an AmricanMegatrends screen, saying "Please Enter setup to recover BIOS setting. Press F1 to run setup." Now I've tried pressing all the function keys, Del, as well as space and enter, and it just doesnt react. My Motherboard doesn't have a ps2 input, so that is out of the question. Please help, I have work to do... :c
  12. I'm sorry, I'm unfamiliar with sizes... does the first number represent width or height?

  15. Hey guys! my whole game was fine until two or three months ago. Since then I stopped playing, and today decided to play some good old Battlefield1. I was hitting 60-80 FPS on high preset in conquest and operations 2 or 3 months ago. 17. Hey Guys! Straight forward question, how much (approx) is my PC worth, as it is used. i5-4460(Brand new) Gtx 1060 3GB Palit model (very slightly used) 16GB corsair vengeance 1866Mhz (Brand New) Chieftec Iarena 450W PSU (3 months old) 1TB 7.2K rpm Generic Toshiba hard drive Cooler Master elite 241 case Samsung DVD-writer PC's been daily used, 1-2 hours every day. would it be worth for me to sell this PC, along with the monitor (22" asus v228), and keyboard (15$ membrane keyboard, with backlighting), and buy a gaming laptop at around 700 pounds? thanks for the answers in advance
  18. But on youtube, everyone seems to get 60-80FPS on ultra with the same specs, why is that
  19. I don't play hardcore tryhard competitively, so, I don't think the framtimes will bother me that much. anyone knows if it's a bug or if it's gonna be like this with Battlefield 5 too?
  20. Hello Guys! I'm getting terrible performance in Battlefield 1. Gtx 1060 3GB Brand New i5-4460 16GB DDR3 CPU is running at 70-100%, even in main menu.
