  1. Based on this, http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-RX-580-vs-AMD-R9-290X/3923vs2166 It doesn't seem that an RX580 would be much of an upgrade.
  2. TBH not sure if i need quite that much. However I do plan on streaming while gaming, and I also use the PC for Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere editing every now and then.
  3. Ok, so I'm pretty sure right now I'm being bottlenecked by my cpu. My current build is CPU- FX-6300 3.5Ghz MOBO-M5a99x evo r2.0 Memory-Corsair Vengeance pro 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3-2400 GPU-PowerColor R9 290x 4GB I'm looking to upgrade and spend less than or just around $1k. CPU-Ryzen 7 1800x 3.6Ghz ~$350 Mobo- Asus Strix X370-F ~ $170 Memory- G. Skill TridentZ RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-2400 ~$360 (I could go with higher clocks for the same price, but i kinda want the RGB lol) So the current upgrade, with prices today, would be just under $900. Would someone recommend something else instead, and for what reason? **EDIT** Use Currently I do use it to game, as of right now, Fortnite, Rainbow Six Siege, Rise of Tomb Raider, and I also use it for Lightroom, Photoshop and Premiere. I also often have a show playing on the tv that's hooked up to the computer so my wife can watch hulu, netflix etc while i game/ edit. With gaming I haven't noticed much lag in the video or in game but definitely while editing, the videos streaming from hulu, netflix etc suffer and are extremely choppy. Also, I'm hoping to not have to sell anything for extra cash and instead eventually have a secondary pc to either pick up the streaming load or for guests or my wife to game on.
  4. I know that HDMI Can carry sound, but since I'm setting my headset as the output, my tv is not outputting any sound. Which is why I was wondering if the capture card and then the recording Laptop would be receiving any sound. But it looks like @Komplett has a solution in the event that the sound doesn't also route to the capture card.
  5. Thanks I'll look into that.
  6. First of, not sure if this is the right forum but it was my best guess. So, I'm wanting to do a two pc streaming setup with the connections shown in the picture. Gaming PC -> Capture card USB headset -> Gaming PC Capture Card -> Recording Laptop Capture Card -> Gaming Monitor Webcam -> Recording Laptop So the headset (chroma kraken usb) is hooked up to the gaming pc to hear the game audio and also voice chat with players. My concern is whether or not the game audio and also the headset mic input would be transmitted to the capture card. I know hdmi carries sound as well, but since the sound is being routed to the headset, would the capture card still be getting game audio?
  7. Oh, also want to mention, if it wasn't apparent, that i would be migrating my OS to the msata drive probably using Macrium Reflect. Not sure if that would change which would be better.
  8. I got a msata drive for next to nothing from a friend who just upgraded his own computer. My computer on the other hand is much older with an asus m5a99x evo r2.0 motherboard and does not support msata drives. I currently have my OS on a standard 2.5in 128 gb or so ssd. The msata drive i got is 256 gb. Would I be able to use a PCIe to msata like https://www.amazon.com/SHINESTAR-SATA3-0-Expansion-Express-Controller/dp/B077JP69XV/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1518019557&sr=8-2&keywords=pcie+1x+to+msata#customerReviews or a msata to sata III like https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-2-5-Inch-Aluminum-Enclosure-EC-MSSA/dp/B01MS6669V/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1518019713&sr=8-1&keywords=msata+to+ssd ? would one be better than the other? or would either of these even work and would performance be affected at all?
