  1. So for work my mom was using an LG 29UC88-B, Ultrawide IPS 2560x1080 panel. It started showing signs of burn in. We swapped it for a newer MSI, I tried to fix the burn in. Full screened a blank white screen for a few days at full brightness, turned it off for another few days, and then took it with me to my new place. I boot it up and what do you know the burned in images were gone. Awesome right? I change the color settings to a preset config, I turn the brightness down to half, and start using it. Well now, after about 20 minutes, the burn in happens again. I noticed it and turned the computer off for a day, turn it on again and it's gone. Then, again, after about 20 minutes, it's back. Causes? Solutions? Recycle this thing? I'm at a loss and need the real estate the screen provides, and really don't want to have to buy a new one if I can absolutely help it....
  2. Okay so I turned off Bitlocker and then cloned the SSD, and now I am still getting INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE. All the troubleshooting I can find I've done. Now Dell had me set the file path in the bios for the boot drive. Could that be it? Is it just Dell being dumb? Am I being dumb?
  3. I have absolutely no idea how I got back in, but I was able to get back in and turn off the bitlocker. Cloning again, hopefully with no issues this time. I tried repairing with USB, didn't work. Tried repairing by logging into their admin profiles but it wouldn't accept any of the passwords they gave me. Then tried booting into safe mode, again wouldn't accept any of the passwords they gave me. Restarted and it booted up. I'll take the win here.
  4. I'm helping a friend upgrade their laptop from a hard drive to solid state. Pretty straightforward right? Well, since cloning the drive I've been unable to boot to the new one. I also can't boot to the old one anymore. It's a Dell Inspiron P30e. Bitlocker was on and I entered the bitlocker key and it just BSODs on the new drive. It then asked for the key on the old drive, it accepted the key, and then I get the INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE bsod. I'm genuinely at a loss as to what to do at the moment and am very frustrated that something I've done many times before with no problems is now giving me issues that I don't know how to fix. I'm currently at the repair options.
  5. Another update. So I haven't contacted my ISP yet. But. I was trying to access a form for my eye insurance and it wasn't letting me, saying firewall issues and connection reset blah, blah. I retried configuring the DNS settings and it let me see the form. But still no monoprice.com.... I guess I'll try contacting the ISP because internet should work like internet, and it's not.
  6. Nope. Sitting in the rocky mountains right now. Haha. Update, I found another webpage that my router is blocking but it looks like it's doing it at the firewall level. Even if I turn the firewall off.... Gonna reach out to my ISP for support. Already emailed ASUS but no response yet.
  7. Monoprice is the only one I know about at least. There may be others but it's not something I can test outside of my normal day-to-day website access. Flushing didn't work. Tried the DNS servers, I'm already connecting to 8.8.8.8 automatically. Didn't work.
  8. I just bought a new ASU RT-AX89X. SO happy with it, except, I cannot access monoprice.com. I know it's the router, as my work PC on a VPN can access it just fine. It's not the PC, because other devices also cannot access it. I simply get a 502 Bad Gateway error. I don't know enough about networking to know what to do, and google searches show people cannot access it as well with their ASUS routers but doing what they did to fix their issues doesn't seem to work for me, or I'm not doing it right. I can't plug into the modem, I'm in an apartment that has networking run to the unit and you have to bring-your-own-router for access. I had a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 before this, but can't remember if I ever accessed monoprice.com from it. I've done a traceroute on the new router and it seems to not get a response back. Fine people of the tech tips community...halp? I'm at a loss as to what to do.
  9. Hello everyone! I'm hoping to poke the brains of users who have done what I'm looking to do, or at least have tried it before. My fiancé is a casual gamer, mostly enjoys console gaming, but there are a few PC games she's learning to enjoy. She doesn't want a desktop, and likes to be as minimalistic as possible when it comes to hardware, wires, etc. I want to get a laptop and eGPU setup for her that meets certain needs that gamers may not always be looking for. She likes to use a laptop in the living room to look up things, do a little bit of work, browse social media, etc. She also loves 2-in1s. This means she needs something with good battery life. I also want to be able to allow her to dock it and game with me on occasion. My experience with gaming laptops is limited, but from what I have seen the battery life is quite sub-par, I'm assuming because of the dedicated GPU drawing more power than is really necessary. My thoughts are: get her a decent laptop with integrated graphics, good CPU, SSD, 16GB memory, and a thunderbolt 3 connection that can handle an eGPU. I know this means a certain number of PCIe lanes are needed. There are SO many laptops out there nowadays that I am having trouble narrowing down something that would work in this regard. Not to mention, specifications documentation isn't the easier to read. Does anyone currently have a setup like this? Can anyone help me with direction?
  10. Okay, unsolved. Streaming from BitStream worked however streaming from an external PC will not show up. Format is: url: rtmp://21.x.x.88:1935/live stream key: [name] The person's OBS that is sending the stream does not indicate any error, but nothing is showing up on the receiving end.
  11. Solved! Had to update to public IP on bitstream.
  12. Update: I set up port forwarding on the router for port 1935, and have addressed the url: rtmp://10.x.x.x:1935/[name] I am still getting Server: null
  13. I'm having trouble streaming content from a mobile device using BitStream on android to my RTMP server set up at home, I get Server: null. I'm also having trouble receiving a friends stream to the same RTMP server from OBS (error:server cannot be found or something to that liking) I have heard suggestions of allowing the feed through the firewall, setting up port forwarding, etc. I'm very unfamiliar with doing that. I also want to make sure my network is still secure, obviously. I at least know I have the url configuration set up accurately, on the mobile device the feed will show up if I connect to the wifi locally. Network is Xfinity (comcast) and I'm using their gateway modem/router combo. I should also clarify that it's a virtual server running on a desktop. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
