  1. I watched the video and tried to follow as closely as I could but it didn't work out for me. Will try to take a look at ProKon's guide, hopefully it works for me =D
  2. I've just gotten my rig, and it is my first time overclocking. System Specs are as follows CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus Z97-K/CSM ATX LGA1150 Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 290 4GB Video Card Case: Cooler Master HAF XM (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: Corsair CS650M PSU I tried manual overclocking but and my computer crashes on me. I tried using EZ tune and it crashes on me as well. Anyone can tell me what's the issue ?
  3. I'm looking to build myself a gaming rig, with the parts below. CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus Z97-K/CSM ATX LGA1150 Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 290 4GB DirectCU II Video Card Case: Cooler Master HAF XM (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: SeaSonic 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Additional Fans: Noctua NF-A14 140MM PWM Fan http://www.cybermind.com.sg/pdf-upload/pricelists/cybermind.pdf I'm from Singapore and my budget is about SGD1,600. This build costs me about SGD1621, but I'm sure I can get a few bucks off. I won't be playing much graphics-intensive games like BF4, but more of Dota2, Diablo3 and maybe FFXIV AAR. I intend to move the 200mm that comes together with the HAF-XM and use it at the side panel, while using a couple of Noctua NF-A14 fans at the top for exhaust. The G3258 is a place-holder for the upcoming Broadwell and I intend to overclock it as well. I also intend to overclock the R9 290, and my concern is with the PSU. I'm wondering if the 650W PSU is able to provide the power for overclocking and stuff. Also, will there be any compatibility issues? Will take any advice into serious consideration
  4. http://www.cybermind.com.sg/pdf-upload/pricelists/cybermind.pdf Maybe you guys can refer to this for the pricing in Singapore. SG prices roughly matches with this catalogue. =)
  5. I haven't decided on whether to OC or not. Hopefully someone on the forums could give some feedback on whether or not I should OC, and from there I will make a decision. Thanks for the suggestion, will keep it in mind
  6. Oh okay. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the advise. Keep em suggestions comin' fellas =D
  7. Hi guys. I'm looking to build my very 1st gaming rig, mostly for games like FFXIV: A Realm Reborn, Diablo 3, Dota2 and CS:GO. I currently have a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop, and I'm not satisfied with the performance that I've had while gaming recently. Also there is the issue of overclocking. I've had recommendations from friends saying that I do not need to overclock, because I simply do not need that increase in performance as well as being able to save some money. So this is the list of parts that I currently have in mind: CPU: Intel Core i5-4670 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor Motherboard: Asus Z87-K ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ) Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory Storage: Samsung Product Series:840 Pro 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 670 2GB Video Card Case: Cooler Master HAF XM (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: SeaSonic 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Bear in mind that the above components are the ones I picked without the intention of OC. I stay in Singapore, and my budget is about SGD 1500-2000 including monitor. I have yet to decide on a monitor, and I do not need other peripherals nor the OS. Recommendations on OC? Should I or should I not ? I understand the need for aftermarket cooler for OC, but am not looking to liquid cool, maybe a noctua NH-D14 or something along those lines. Guys your inputs please =)
