well, i tried again at 2666 at 3.2-3.5 @ 16-16-16-36 with no luck. knocked down the voltage to 1.2 and the mhz to 2400 with 14-16-16-36 and am stable. i have a feeling this is a misslabled kit of ram or sumthing skech. at least this is better than what i had! tnx for all the help. if i try neting different and get better results ill post again. ty again! https://valid.x86.fr/w7zkwk for my cpuz validation tore threw cinabench at like mid 1200's

well the bios just had auto so i went back to defaults and checked cpuz and its 15-15-15-36. so im guessing its not a big improvement is it

couldn't get the memory to run at 2666 for the life of me, BUT, was able to get the timings down to 14-15-15-36 at the 2133mhz. will these tighter timings make up for the lower frequency?

using the ryzen 2600 on the strix b350f with patriot viper pc4-21300. docp is trying to set it to 16-17-17-36-1.2v. any suggestions on a timing set to try to get the ram to run at 2666mhz not 2134mhz

yea, i had to use my brothers r7 1700 to flash the board when i got it b/c it didnt have the 2nd gen update already so it had the latest bios as of 4 weeks ago... nub question... agesa? i guess i can google it.. #lmgtfy Edit: yea there hasn't been a bios update for this board since april 27th. and it did have AGESA 1.0.0.2a + SMU 43.18 ... from what ive read/watched. the strix b350f is a very solid board and am going to guess its more the patriot viper memory's fault on this... but i can be wrong. IMO for anyone thinking of upgrading from ddr3 to ddr4.. spend the 20-40 extra on the good stuff. will be worth it. my brother had the same problem, he got geil memory and took 2 months for a bios update to come out to get the 2666mhz to work.. wont ever buy budget ram again

Bought a new system a month ago. got the ryzen 5 2600, asus strix b350-f motherboard, patriot vipser 8gb memory (pc4-21300) at 2666mhz, evga 650w g2 psu, and kept my gigabyte gtx 770 4gb. i use a custon water loop to cool the r5 2600 and can ezily get 4.2 ghz at around 1.3v. BUT when it comes to the memory, i cant get it over 2134mhz when ever i try the xocp in bios it dosen't take. ive also tried entering the xocp in ryzen master manually and that doesn't work either. im not super worried about it b/c ive herd ryzen 2nd gen isn't as memory dependent as 1st gen ryzen. but would like to get the advertised 2666mhz the memory is good for. kinda wish i just spent the extra 30-40 and got gskill now tho... but the memory i got did say its designed for the latest intel and amd platforms... but ofc it will say that.. wouldn't it? lul

i think u'd want at least the 750ti. but id shoot for a 1050ti

Don't have another Mobo, but nothing on the Mobo looks fryed and I smelt the smelly smell of something that smells smelly

so after my pump took a crap the other night, ive come to the conclusion my cpu is a gonner.. which is the worst possible thing for me. i have 0 dollars i can put twards a new cpu rn and dont see it changing anytime in the near future. if anyone has an fx based chip they dont need and can find it somewhere in their hearts to help a guy that is totally infatuated with computers out, i would be forever in debt to you.
