  1. Main purpose will be upcoming titles that aren't released on Xbox one , along with current games like Starcraft , dota and league , which I can run on my i5 notebook , but I was just curious as to the general consensus of the CPU titles . From what you guys have shared , seems like i5 is a safe bet if you have extra money , but the AMD can keep it's head above water for a lower price but mainly gaming , am I right ?
  2. Benefits and disadvantages of an i5 or i7 in comparison to AMD cpu? Include Price, value for money and general purposes?
  3. nah turns out the enclosure was faulty, i bought another today and it worked instantly.
  4. What is a decent gpu to run alongside my 4670k in my new rig im building? Budget for graphics is around 300-450, will i have to spend more to make sure i dont bottleneck my cpu or..? Going to mainly run games like planetside 2 but i want to be able to easily run 95% of upcoming titles.
  5. (pretty obvious) that i was just enquiring, thanks for your fantastic input. Yeah that probably is a good option actually!
  6. Is it possible to store my games on my secondary hhd and play them off my ssd for better performance?
  7. yeah the button isn't finding any. ill go back to the store tomorrow and buy a second enclosure and also check the name on the box (they had heaps). So i can rule out what's affecting it.
  8. According to Windows it does, but it can't find them. I can't see where i put the box to it, it was just a no -name brand though.
  9. both. UPDATE: I opened up the "safely remove hardware" part that is showing the usb, and the hhd is being recognised there and now also in device manager AND task manager but not my computer, now what.
  10. Well i hear the drive spinning when it's plugged in, and that's really something i can't control. Do enclosures have power limits or do they show maximum voltage on the box or..?
  11. I recently installed my new SSD on my laptop, now i'm trying to use my old hard drive as a external hard drive. I purchased a enclosure and plugged it into my computer, nothing showed up. (not in disk management or anything, only in 'safely remove device'.. "Sata to USB3.0".) So i have searched the interwebs and found that i must first partition and format the drive, being a newbie at this, i fiddled around with the hard drive yesterday with no positive results. Although, i have managed to have three separate drives off the one hard drive (Shown in my computer, i partitioned them i guess ) One is the main C: boot drive (360gb), one is a HHD recovery (about 1gb) and the third is the external partition that im trying to create (about 360gb). I have the ability to do a fresh install and format of this hhd as i have no files i need and i have a multi boot usb. The question i'm asking is; For a external drive to work, what are the format or partition requirements and how do i go about implementing them, System Details; It's a laptop (Toshiba) It's running WIndows 8. and yes i got the right enclosure, although it may be faulty! starting to think that anyway.. Any responses welcome, thanks.
  12. that's so freaking cool.
  13. Yeah i just realised i needed to do that because i have a win8 product key from a digital dl
  14. Nevermind, you were right. http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/windows-and-office/get-the-iso-you-need-to-create-your-own-windows-81-dvd/#. Apparently it gives you a media option. Apologies as i am just a padawan
  15. Yeah i think that is for more of upgrading from another OS; "Before you begin: Make sure you’re on the PC you want to upgrade. " I'm trying to find an ISO file so i can add it my multi-boot usb i made earlier.
