  1. Sorry to revive an old topic but it tool me a while to try any solutions. But the result is still pretty much the same. I even tried taking out his old hard drive and sticking it into the new system so he didn't have to redownload everything again and it still make him go through BIOS in order to get into his computer at every startup/ restart.
  2. Sorry for not replying, but I tried switching the cable back to the ones that came with the PSU and still getting the same thing. Upon restart, I get a d6 error, I then power down and when I restart again, I get the 99 error with the F1 prompt. I then takes me into the BIOS where it asks me which drive I want to boot from which the only one there is the Samsung 980 Pro. I click on it and it boots into Windows after that. I know a little about computers, but this has got me stumped.
  3. There is only one cable from the PSU to the GPU. It is not an extention.
  4. II bought a cable from cablemod that makes all 4 cables into 1. As for the boot order, there is only 1 drive in the computer. and it is already set to it.
  5. I installed Windows 11 as per the suggestion. Upon startup, I got a d6 code. I restarted and got the 99 code with a prompt to hit F1 to enter setup. After hitting F1, it took me to the BIOS. From there I can click on the drive I want to boot from and then it goes into the windows that I installed. But I have to do this every time I try to boot the computer. And it still does the d6 error and i have to restart to get the 99 code.
  6. Small update: Tried pulling the CMOS battery to clear it, but when I booted up after that, I got a d6 code and the VGA (white) and Boot (green) lights were on. nothing on the monitor. I Powered down using the 5 sec rule on the power button. When it booted up after that, I go the 99 code again and the Boot (green) light on. The monitor came on saying I needed to press F1 to enter set up. Also forgot to mention that this happens every time I get the 99 code.
  7. Sorry, forgot to mention that I brought it out to my system and used my monitor, could get into bios at that point. I then went from a HDMI cable to a Display cable on my sons monitor and was able to see BIOS on his.
  8. Building a system for my son. Parts consist of: ROG Strix X670e-e, Ryzen 9 7950x, Corsair iCue H150i Elite, Corsair RM1000x, Gigabyte Geforce RTX 4090, Samsung SSD 980 Pro 2TB M.2, Corsair 64GB (2x 32GB) 4800MHz set in A2 and B2 Got it all together and powered up for the first time, could not get a signal on my son's monitor and a q-code of 99. Did a little research and tried a few suggestions such as reseating everything and switching out the monitor which did not work. Tried updating the bios to 1807 (upgraded today) which also did not work. The BIOS see all the parts but when I go to the boot up, it does not see the Samsung SSD. I moved the SSD from one M.2 to another but still getting the same results. This one is stumping me. Any suggestions would be welcomed.
  9. Like you, we are on T-Mobile at the moment for our phones but when we moved from Washington State to Florida, we also got T-Mobile Home Internet as they called it then, so we could have internet as we crossed the country. When we got to the apartment we are in now, we still had it but the devices we had running off it, 4 computers and a TV, it would create serious lag issues, even though we had it hooked up to a Linksys router. Not to mention that the best signal we could get was only 3 bars. So, we switched over to Xfinity and have not had problem since. Now that we are moving again to a new home, our T-Mobile signal out there is shotty at best. Sometimes it is 1 bar, other times it is 3 bars. Can imagine what the Home Internet would be. I think Verizon may have internet there but is only under the 4G LTE coverage, which for 2 gamers would probably not cut it. So now on to the Hot Spot. Guess we will just have to hope for the best and wait for something better to reach our area. Thanks for the knowledge you have given me.
  10. Unfortunately, Starlink is not available in my area as of yet. With this being said, what would you recommend? Trying to find a 5G hotspot that is on the cheap end had been a little difficult. All the cheaper ones seem to be 4G LTE. And having cellular internet as my only option, I want to try and get the best connection, speed, and stability I can get.
  11. As stated before, AT&T hot spot is my only option
  12. Hi All: I am moving into a home where the only internet connection I can get is a hot spot which would be through AT&T. Since my son and I are gamers, what kind of issues would we face due to this? Looking at AT&T's coverage map, we are in their 5G ultra coverage area. They are trying to sell us their NightHawk (599.00) hot spot equipment so we can get internet out there. With this being said, what would be some recommendations would you give in order to maybe maximize the potential of doing it this way? I read that adding a router to the hot spot might help with signal between devices. I want to ask alot of questions but I think I should wait to see what some of the responses are. So fire away.
  13. This did not address my concern over the USB-C port which why I was asking. I will recommend the WD m.2 over the Samsung's just to save money. As for the memory I was going for flashy and she really doesn't need more than the 3200. But back to the motherboard issue, Please USB-C port.
  14. Budget (including currency): around 2000 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Some Gaming, but mostly streaming Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I am putting together a computer for my daughter and I think I got a good one going with what she wanted. The only thing is the motherboard. Here is a PCpartpicker list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HTFK2m I just need a little help with the motherboard. PCpartpicker says there might be an issue with the bios but that I can take of. What I didn't see on the MB was a USB-C port. Can you all help me pick a good board with that port but is also wifi as well at the same price range. I would prefer B550 or X570 since she will be using the 5600x (due to price drops) even though I have the 5600 listed. So what would you guys recommend?
  15. What about this one https://www.newegg.com/evga-supernova-850-g6-220-g6-0850-x1-850w/p/N82E16817438212?Description=EVGA Supernova 850 G6&cm_re=EVGA_Supernova 850 G6-_-17-438-212-_-Product&quicklink=true
  16. That maybe the case but I would like to get some custom cables and I do not want to get extensions since it would add more cables to an already crowded case. And plus, that is if I can find the bag with all the cables in it because I move across country recently, and I have no idea where they are or if I even still have them. I am running a GTX 1060 right now so I only need one, but with the upgrade, I will need three.
  17. I have a EVGA 850 GQ and am think of getting a EVGA 3080 FTW3
  18. I am most likely posting this in the wrong forum but I did not know where to post this so..... I am looking for a coupon code to cablemod. I am getting a new GPU and I have to get extra cable to handle the power so I decided to go with some custom cables. I had a coupon that brought my price down from 100 to 80 but unfortunately the code did not work in my region. I tried a couple of LTT codes, but they have since expired. Which is why I am asking now if anyone know of any. Please help a broke person trying to save even the littlest of money so I can be the scrooge that am.
  19. So does that mean I will have issues with a B450 as well?
  20. Ok then, I took the 3600 out of my rig and stuck into the new one. I still get no display. I now have eliminated the CPU, GPU, and Monitor. Outside of the MB, would there be any other suggestions.
  21. I meant to say b550m. Sorry about that. B550 is supposed to be backwards compatible I thought.
  22. Hello and Happy Boxing Day: I just put together a mostly new build for my wife and when I turn the computer on, I get no video output. To lay down the specs, it has a ASRock B500-HDV motherboard, Ryzen 5 1600 CPU (old part), 16GB (8GB x 2) of G.Skill 3200Mhz ram, Sapphire Nitro R9 380 4GB (old Part), Samsung Evo 970 M.2 500GB, and a Corsair CX650M Power Supply. All parts are new except for the CPU and GPU. I know there is power going to the board because when I power it up, all the lights that should light up do so and all the fans that should spin do so. The only thing is I get no video. At first, I thought it was the GPU since it was an old card and have not tested it in a while, so I pulled the EVGA GTX 1060 out of my system and tried it in hers since I knew it was a working card. Still no picture. I check all the connections and tried several times more but still no picture. I thought maybe the screen was bad, so I plug it into my laptop and got picture. At this point I have an idea that the MB might be bad but before I take it to a computer shop to know for sure, I thought I would see if you guys might have any suggestions before I spend more money on this. What do you think?
  23. Budget (including currency): 250 USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Glorified Typewriter Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): This is probably not the right topic but here goes. My wife's Dell OptiPlex 9020 just died and I want to replace it with a mini desktop. I have looked at a few but I am not sure which one to get. All she uses it for is email, internet, and glorified typewriter and nothing else. She does not need a power house. So I would like to get y'alls opinion to point me in a good direction. If this needs to be moved to a different topic, I will not be offended. Thanks in advance
  24. Well no matter what I do, I still have to enter the pin when I restart the computer, so none of this has worked.
