  1. Hi there, Going to pick up one of these monitors tomorrow and I’m in need of some help choosing. I won’t game and won’t do any editing. I will do web development and other programming, surf the web, watch some video content and possibly a lot of reading. What I’m looking for is a good panel, decent res (they are both 2560x1440) and a good size (they are both 25’’). It doensn’t have to be 2560x1440 or 25’’, these are the ones I have looked at and what I think is a good balance between size and resolution. I know Dell’s has an HDR mode, but I’ll not be using it. My connection is DisplayPort and in the future I aim to daisy-chain two monitors. -> If you suggest anything besides one of these please be sure that they meet the following criteria: IPD Panel Minimum 2560x1440 and Maximum 3840x2160 Aspect ration 16:9 or 21:9 Good color accuracy Daisy Chain capabilities Thank You
  2. Hi there, I have a MacBook Pro 13'' from 2016 with Touch Bar and maxed out. (Ouch! I know, but I was a gift...). The screen is too small for the work I do (VM's and multiple coding software open at the same time). So I'm looking for a monitor. I would prefer to take advantage of the Thunderbolt 3 port in my Mac, so USB-C connectivity would be nice. I'm also looking at something that would not cause strain in the eyes, so I higher resolution would be nice - 4K or 5K, if you suggest a 21:9 please do it with a high res. Besides the USB-C port: -> IPS Panel -> Size is not an issue -> Aspect ratio I would prefer 16:9, I've been told that some 21:9 are not very good in sharpness (but I really don't know). -> Matte or Glossy is no issue either. -> Curved or flat is also not an issue. --> Having the MacBook Pro I've already looked at the LG UltraFine 4K and 5K ($$$ - and I doubt that my Mac, even maxed out, would be capable of running a 5K display and do some heavy work). So the Ultrafine are an option, an expensive option. That's why I came here. Can you please suggest some monitors that meet the criteria above and follow the following order of important requisites: Perfomance (A good display above everything, I will be in front of this my entire day, so it must be good). Build Quality (A sturdy display will be good, one that would last me 5 to 10 years). Design (It comes last but is also an important thing to add). -> It will be expensive, but if the ultrafine are an option you already know my price point: 750€ - 1400€ (yes, I do live in Portugal but I can easily order from Amazon). Thanks in advance.
  3. I forgot to mentioned: Size of the monitor is no issue. Aspect Ratio... I would prefer the more common 16:9 but I wouldn't mind the 21:9. In terms of curves, everyone likes them! Flat or slightly curved is no problem. Glossy or matte is also up to you, I don't have intense light sources near me, and if the panel is good enough, increasing brightness will do it. But... It has to be IPS!
  4. Hi there, I am in need of a display, I’ve decided that I wouldn’t go under 4K. Apple makes the choice a bit easier when selling the two UltraFine from LG, one 4K and one 5K. Right now the price for them are 750€ and 1399€, Portugal prices. I already know about the almost all plastic build and no-swivel “issue”. Thing is, there is no 5K display that I can buy here (Dell’s is more expensive). There are a lot of 4K but obviously they are plastic too. LG has some besides this Ultrafine. Finally my questions are: Should I buy one of these? (considering Apple will eventually launch a new monitor. The price won’t be cheap and if it really is 8K then my gpu wouldn’t handle it). If I should buy, which one? ( I will only buy one, desk space... I will do multitasking - VM’s with mainly programming software.) If I shouldn't buy any of these two, then suggestions would be great. (The one cable setup will be a requirement, meaning the monitor has to have USB-C / Thunderbolt 3) — Bare in mind that I have a maxed out 13inch MacBook Pro from 2016, but I’m not sure if running a 5K display, a Windows virtual machine and a lot of CPU and RAM intensive coding software is a good idea... I don't think it will be powerful enough and have room to breath and I don't intend to push the laptop to a 100% for hours and hours, every time I need to work. Main point is performance, quality parts and design. I'm willing to pay up to the 5K display (there're a lot of good monitors out there and way cheaper), but I want your personal experience with them. Googling the "Top Whatever Best Displays for MacBook Pro" comes always to the same result and before committing even to the 4K one I would like some thoughts on the subject. Thanks in advance
