  1. Thanks for your suggestion! I thought about picking out the pieces but thought I might make it worse so I left it I'll replace it since it just doesn't feel right knowing that there are random particles in the paste
  2. Yea in hindsight, I should have. But I guess it should be replaced regardless!
  3. Cool thanks! I'll replace it just to be on the safe side. Would you recommend using the "pea" method or the "line" method?

Not sure if anybody else has experienced this but I was installing the Ryzen 5 1400 wraith stealth cooler (which has the pre-applied thermal paste) and I noticed that the thermal paste had tiny bits of cardboard or something stuck to it. This was a brand new unopened CPU. I didn't have any aftermarket thermal compound around so I just installed it and the temps seem to be okay for now but should I replace it with some aftermarket thermal paste? Or is it safe to leave it as is? Thanks!
