  1. I am making a point I seriously doubt hes next door to buy. There are people that can and do have decent systems in your area for decent prices.
  2. it really depends on what you are after and since you stated you wanted a workstation more than a gaming rig then you have more options than you can shake a stick at. Intel is not the only game in the park and AMD powered systems are just fine also. You can get an 8 core AMD FX3 with 8 to 16 gigs of memory for around 500 to 600 or less depending on what you get with it.. I build systems and resell them. I build make sure they work well and have basic software on them and run them for days before I list them. At 450 I have a brand new corsair Carbide case. 4 extra fans over the one red that came with the case. An AMD 8370 that runs 4.0 and turbos to 4.2 An after market enermax cooler. Nice Asus 990 FX professional Motherboard. 12 gig of corsair DDR3 1600 ram. A nice Adlink 240 SSD and a 1TB 7200 rpm hard drive for storage. Finally a EVGA 780 GTX video card.. (New case, Brand new hard drives) This system will do fine with nearly all the games. Maybe not on max settings for the newer ones but it will run the ones people want like fortnight and pub G. Will work just fine with data crunching. When your ready just buy a new video card like a 1060 6 gb later when you want to serious game.
  3. I'm more of the 1700 and up kind of person but I did build a 1600X in a define Mini Itx case with a Gigabyte B350 MB and used a 1700 spire on it. It worked out nice for a build and handled games and content well with the 1070 SC card
  4. I am still laughing I got the case as an open box for a nice price like 50 dollars off and the MB and processer are running RGB. I will prob just set it static blue later.
  5. https://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.3646766 here is a 1600 combo this one has a cooler and yes you can clock it.. NewEgg has some nice combo deals if you do some searching.... remember I do build for people and do this lots.
  6. Here you go... https://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.3705944
  7. Nothing wrong with picking up pieces and then building the system but only if you do it before the seller warranty is still good. A word of caution on the 1600X if your considering it that there is no cooler included. The 2600 would be the better bet since it has a cooler with it that is pretty good. As for the Intel.. Come on this guy is on a budget and where is he getting a cooler to cool that intel to get that kind of numbers?
  8. Here is the 1700 and the board on my wet bench before I transfered it into a nice Roswill Cullin case.
  9. I'm running a Ryzen 1700 and a Gigabyte Gaming B350 and its clockable and running nice for the price
  10. you would be better saving for the 2600X and a B350
  11. its really nice but the Factory lists are 99% useless in finding the RGB ram I have gone through inputting numbers for hours trying to find stuff. Lets take the Geil site and statements saying they are AMD Ryzen compatible but no lists have them listed nor is any sellers listing the proper codes that are supposed to work response from GEIL "According to the series number provided, it seems that the issue might be because what you’re installed in an Intel edition rather than the AMD edition ram. For AMD edition, the model number should start with GALWS."
  12. The issue is not the name I purchased 32 gb of Trident and it turned out to be the wrong stuff. I need working part numbers and such. Making 450 or 250 dollar goof's is hard on my budget The web site gives part numbers that do not work 99% of the time when I search for memory
  13. Hi, I have a Ryzen 1700X and a Gigabyte Arous 370 K7 MB I am pulling my hair out trying to find RGB memory that will work with it and run 3200 speed. I tried their site and its a mess. Does anyone know what works and what brands>
  14. With your budget the Used market is your best spot. Normally you can find Whole combo's for sale from people that upgraded. I've picked up some nice deals like an AMD 8350 with a 990 motherboard for around 150.00. I have even picked up the 8370 for that price. Some will come with the memory also. You can still game and stream fine with it. Here is an example of what I have gotten 150 dollars 8350 FX processer. MSI 990 gaming motherboard. W/8gig ram 16 gig of 1600 ram 50-100 dollars. I posted a Craigs list score pix
  15. If the speed is the same you should be able to get away with running them all. Put the 8gig in the primary or recommended slots for 2 sticks and the 4gig in the others. Depending upon your machine and such it will accept the combination. Sometimes it works fine and others it does not. The best you can do is to test it and find out.
  16. You can do 4k with several cards that are out there. Do not overlook the 980 card. After that I would look at for Nvidia cards in the 10 series starting with the 1060, 1070 and 1080. For radon use a 580 or vega. The sad part is do to the current shortage and crypto miners. Most of the good 4k cards are more than double Retail pricing right now.
  17. If you have the 580 now I would stick with it for a while. Prices on the 1070 cards are double of MSRP right now. No sense in tossing away money when you have a nice card already.
  18. Yes it will work. Any graphics card will just plug into the slot on the mother board. The mount has not changed in quite a few years.
  19. Yes that is an option but how many are on the Auto notify list atm. What if you want a good card now? That is the problem you saved up for a nice build only to get to the GPU and none are available and the ones that you find are Way out of your budget. I personally know a person that is in the process of building about a million dollar Mining set up. Guess who will get the cards first?
  20. hum lets check. Crused some sites and all out of stock. Seen a random 1050 2gig card but nothing in the range of good gaming at Retail or close to it even
  21. So today I see it is now at 6k for bitcoin. You have to wonder if now many of the miners are thinking Um time to bail? Its a 2x drop in prices.
  22. You should be fine. Winblows takes a shot of what you have and normally it will handle a replacement of a part with no issue. Now if you do a MB, Processor and Memory change it might not like it much.
  23. So today the Bit coin took a huge dive and so did all the others. Along with the stock market taking its worst dive in a long time. Is the end of bit coin mining or is this just a short breather for everyone. Are you hoping that the GPU market goes down to where they are available and back closer to MSRP than now? Perhaps the Used market will be flooded with used cards as well as miners dump their equipment?
