  1. I just want to throw in old xeon CPUs. They are normally cheaper than their i7 counterparts and still compatible with the desktop mainbaords (at least the E3-series). You can search for E3 v6 (Kaby lake) or E3 v5 (Skylake) series CPUs. An exhaustive list of which CPUs are supported can be found on your mainbaord manufaturers website. I personally upgraded my i5-4690k to an E3-1230v3, as it was only half the price of an i7. But please keep in mind that xeons are not overclockable (at least not the E3-series from what I know) and do not bring an iGPU (So you will need to have a dedicated GPU installed)
  2. okay, found the solution. The connected HDMI cable was too long, forcing an extremly low resolution mode which the UEFI didn't like. After adding a GPU which can drive the cable it works now
  3. Well, time to get a BIOS beeper. Haven't had one in ages No, it is the standard version in black and blue.
  4. Thanks for the asnwer - I swapped the CPU with another one I have here. Sadly, the error still persists. I cannot see any visual damage indications (which doesn't mean there is no damage to the board, but I hope that thats not the problem)
  5. Hello veryone, so, I have an MSI Z97-G43 laying around here. It seems to boot normally (at least to the EFI shell, I have no storage connected ATM). But whe trying to enter the BIOS (delete-key) or boot selection menu (F11) I only get anm A9 error in the lower right corner. Resetting the CMOS didn't help and there seems to be no documentation on the error codes (other than that A9 is the AMI standard error code for "Start of Setup", which is kinda useless). I also let it sit for a few minutes in case that helps, but no luck. The board is currrently as minimalistic as possible. Only USB keyboard, no PCI(e) devices, no storage, etc. Does anybody have an idea what I could do to get the BIOS back? I would try to reflash it, but without accessing the current bios that might also not be possible.
  6. Maybe try adding/changing the "DirectoryIndex"-Directive inside the vhost or httpd.conf file. A (somewhat) example of this can be found here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/6077238/how-do-i-change-default-directory-and-index-file-for-apache-installed-via-xampp In your case you would need to add "DirectoryIndex index.php" and it should work. If not, check if you set the correct "DocumentRoot"
