Hi. Currently playing with a Xeon X3430 (3.8ghz) with an overclocked MSI GTX 970. Far Cry New Dawn is the latest title I have and I have been playing a lot recently. I tried the built in benchmark and got a 60 fps average on ultra 1080p. I was thinking of getting an X3440 for the hyperthreading BUT I am not sure if it will increase my FPS. I have been searching the web for a comparison of the X3430 and X3440 while using a GTX 970 and while playing Far Cry New Dawn at 1080p ultra but I havent seen any thing that specific. The X3440 is just a $15 upgrade so it's very tempting. I hope to hear inputs. Thank you!

Hi I plan to buy a cheap open box Samsung 75Hz freesync monitor. I mainly play Far Cry 5 and New Dawn and also Forza Horizon 4. So is 75Hz worth it? I have an RX 570 4gb and I usually play at High Settings or the tier below ultra to achieve ~75Hz.

Hello. I managed to get a good deal on an X58 motherboard and a Xeon E5620. The xeon has 4 cores and 8 threads and has a tdp of 80w. I plan to overclock it to 4Ghz but my question is would I notice any difference when compared to a build with a Xeon X3440 (4c,8t - LGA 1156)

I recently sold my i5-2500 and Intel H67 motherboard. I then bought an H55 motherboard and an X3430 as replacements. I overclocked the Xeon to 3.86Ghz and I seem to have matched the multi threaded score I was getting with the i5-2500. I did not record the fps when I still had my i5-2500 but do you think they're the same in terms of gaming performance? The videocard I used for both the i5 and the xeon setup is a Radeon HD 7850 2GB.

Tried re seating the processor and also using one ram at a time and it still persists. One thing I noticed though is that before this happened, I felt some electricity when I flipped the psu switch and touched the metal part of the PSU. I'm really frustrated because I cant figure this out.

I am very frustrated with by PC. It will turn on for 1-2s then turn off for 5-6s then on again and the cycle repeats. I dont know if the problem is the motherboard or the PSU. I am leaning towards the PSU though since on the rare occasion that it turns on for 15s, the PC boots and I can go to the bios etc. like normal booting up. Please help me I dont know what to do

Okay will do. I'll also wait for night time since I'm testing in 3PM heat here in my country (33C). If temps go lower (75C) during night time. I'll be happy with the results of my overclock

Gaming and Synthetic loads are almost the same (Running Far Cry Primal on Ultra). What I'm worried about are the VRMs on the motherboard as I have no way of monitoring their temperatures.

Hi. I managed to overclock my Xeon X3430 to 3.8 Ghz and running Aida64 gave me a temperature of 82C. Do note however that ambients are 33C (I know! Summer here in the tropics is insane). Is 82C acceptable?
