  1. My other case option would be full sized o11 evo but that's 100 more than the mini so in a backwards way, I'm gonna be spending the extra 100 no matter what. Thx for the advice about the Mobo and ddr 5
  2. Mobo changed to Asus Prime z690-A. Does overclocking matter with the 13700k? I'm under the impression intel auto clock will be adequate on its own, or does the better quality board just help with performance regardless SFX psu for power around 750-850 is very limited yeah, about 8 options. Of which the Atx 3 is only 20 bucks more expensive. ddr 5 is also quite limited
  3. https://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/tip5y/saved/KGwTmG I've made adjustments for my build to upgrade to ddr5 for $70 (ATX to mATX). No idea if the Mobo is 'good' though. PSU has to be SFX unfortunately for the o11 mini so I don't have too much choice. I've just read about ATX 3.1 coming out with a different 16pin connector so it seems buying 3.0 isn't gonna be worth. Should I just go with a 3*8pin compatible PSU cause that should be good with current gen GPUs(?) if I do upgrade soon
  4. PSU is ATX 3.0 (better compatibility with newer gpu's(?), I'm planning to upgrade GPU later (this build is suppose to be around ~3k, so I got plenty wiggle room for a decent gpu down the line). I don't understand the new GPU gen in terms of power delivery at all and what will be compatible down the line in terms of cables (year or two). Any help would be much appreciated thanks? (that's why I got 850w to future proof) Do you think ddr 5 + Mobo prices are worth it (especially due to ATX less availability), I don't know if it gives better frames. Cheers
  5. Main concern I have is with my dependence on Lianli AIO / fans. I love the aethetic, but I've read them breaking in weeks or months (not sure if its actually widespread issue). Would ddr 4 CL 18 3600 be better than cl 16 3200? I know that cl 16 should give better lowest 1% cf cl 18 but is it worth the tradeoff? (if at all noticeable). Otherwise any advice on parts would be appreciated. [I want to keep ATX Mobo (looks better in the 011 mini imo). Same with the 13700k as it's cheaper than 7900x in Aus. I'd prefer a consistent fan style.] [PCPartPicker Part List](https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/PzDGjH) Type|Item|Price :----|:----|:---- **CPU** | [Intel Core i7-13700K 3.4 GHz 16-Core Processor]| $599.00 @ Centre Com **CPU Cooler** | [Lian Li Galahad II Trinity SL-INF 61.3 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler] $245.00 @ BPC Technology **Motherboard** | [Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE DDR4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard]) | $239.00 @ PCCaseGear **Memory** | [TEAMGROUP T-Force Delta RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory] | $113.00 **Storage** | [Western Digital Black SN850X 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive] | $134.00 **Video Card** | [GTX 1070] --> Keeping from previous build **Case** | [Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini Snow Edition ATX Mid Tower Case]$179.00 @ BPC Technology **Power Supply** | [Cooler Master V SFX Gold ATX 3.0 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular SFX Power | $239.00 @ Centre Com **Case Fan** | [Lian Li Uni Fan SL-Infinity 61.3 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack]| $155.00 @ BPC Technology **Case Fan** | [Lian Li Uni Fan SL-Infinity 61.3 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack] | $155.00 @ BPC Technology **Case Fan** | [Lian Li Uni Fan SL-Infinity 72.7 CFM 140 mm Fan] | **Total** | **$2231.00**
  6. I got a 1050ti + 7400 currently. Someone just posted a 1070 for 100Aud (63usd) and is willing to refund me if I'm not happy with it. Should I bite? I know there are thermal issues with the FE, but from what I can tell it has been optimized / I can just fix it by adjusting fan curves? [I'm going to build a new pc later this yr 13700k... Etc but I refuse to upgrade new gpu in the current market. I can wait.]
  7. surprised that people actually know about matebooks.
  8. Hi all, I am purchasing a computer for university early next year but unsure of the specs I want due to my workload. The most demanding things I will do on the laptop is editing 3k video and gaming. I'm fine with a mx 250/ 150 because I don't play AAA games. However I am not sure what specs I can get away with editing 3k video. I do have an budget of around 2k aud (When say laptop I mean more of an ultra book like Macbooks/Zenbooks/Matebooks) For example is an i5 16gb ram better then i7 8gb ram for editing? Is the processor really that important or is Ram? (I want smooth scrubbing at at least 1080p, video usually have 3 - 6 layers.) The laptops I have in mind come in either i5 8gb or i7 16gb, how big of an upgrade is this? I can bare to wait an extra hour in terms of rendering but scrubbing and editing process itself has to be be smooth. Presumably 8gb is worse off than 16gb ram, however many companies don't allow for an i5 16gb config. p.s does under volting my laptop make it worse off in editing, I presume not but no one has confirmed this to me. Thanks!
  9. Can’t do, my pc is 8 meters away from router. I can’t stretch my budget any further, (I already have :P)
  10. 750 usd, but don’t worry too much. Some parts from pcpartpicker au dont actually exist, especially Umart. They closed down near where I am
  11. Is the samsung 850 evo ssd better/faster?
  12. Unfortunately 1000 usd is 1300 in Australian dollars.
  13. I heard ssd are faster then hdd so i went for an ssd. But i will definitely add more storage when it comes to it. (I currently use a laptop with 250gb, and I have used about 85% of it after 5 years). And thanks for the advice on ram!
  14. Which Ryzen would you recommend for my build? (Has to be around if not cheaper then my current cpu)
  15. Does Ryzen work well with all my parts? Also I’ve heard Ryzen is not as good for editing videos. Please do correct me if I’m wrong, I am all new to this.
  16. Ahh, my headphones are 3.5mm on both ends. Sorry mate, can’t help
  17. That happened to me when I had the cord plugged in reverse. But I’m not sure if you have a separate cord for your headphones or not. If so try plugging it out and reverse it. Best of luck
  18. Hello all, I have recently been fortunate enough to build a desktop using around $1000, I have already chosen all the parts and hoping to buy it in the next few days if not today. I would like to ask if all the parts in my build work well with each other, and I can use the desktop (hopefully) right after I build it. This is my build: https://www.pccasegear.com/sc/yDB Thanks, and I wish you all a happy new year!
  19. Hello, this is my first time using a forum of any kind, I hope I’m posting this correctly as it took me 20min to figure out how to post this. I have never built a computer of any kind, but in the past few months I’ve grasped some basic concepts. So I have created a new build that suits my needs (gaming and school work), and is also in a comfortable-ish price range. This is my build: https://www.pccasegear.com/sc/bhwFb As I said I’m very new to all this, so I’m wondering if the parts for this build is -compatible (Do all the parts work togther well, no bottle necking) -good for gaming (I have a Toshiba laptop that i use to play dota2 on low settings for 17 fps, so anything above this is good) -anything important missing (Do I need like a modem for the pc to connect to wifi?) Thankyou guys for your help (hopefully) p.s I am looking for a cheap curved monitor, if anyone knows any please tell me. (Price range around 200~400 aud)
