  1. Hi guys!! I just had some questions that I'd like to get some opinions on! - I recently finished an all copper custom loop with a 360mmx60mm rad and a 120x30mm rad, attached to a 7700k and 1080ti. (I did it all for under £100 after shopping around, and do not have any "full cover" blocks) Anyways I'm running - CPU at 5.2ghz 1.45/1.47v. Average 77 degrees under aida64 cpu/fpu/cache/memory GPU at 2151mhz 1.2v (XOC bios). Maxes out at 48 degrees. Is there anything here to be worried about? Also I'm not sure if I should be worried about the VRM's of my GPU as they are now bare. Although they do have some direct airflow from my original gpu fans that I've got underneath the block (see pictures) running at around 35%. Thanks for any opinions or insights!
  2. Fair enough then! If you guys think it's that easy for things to go wrong I'll take your word for it! It does surprise me though! The edges of the ihs must be taking a lot more pressure than I thought they would be!
  3. Hi, I am doing a little project where I'm making a full custom water loop for cpu&gpu for £100, and I was thinking of also doing direct die cooling. Obviously I'd have to remove the retention bracket, but after that, technically couldnt I just plonk the water block on with a bunch of washers around the back and have the cpu directly die cooled? I hear that mounting pressure would be an issue and that I "dont want to crack" the die but really as long as the mounting pressure is uniform it should be fine right? With maybe just finger tight screws? I also am aware that when the cooler is pulled off itll pull the CPU out too, but that also should not be an issue if it is pulled straight off? Anyone see any issues with this that I'm missing?? Thanks!!
  4. Hi, i have a Samsung cf791 34 inch monitor that is just too heavy for my current monitor arm. The monitor arm lets the display sag down, and isnt able to hold the monitor in one position for long before it also swings it round so im looking at the monitor at an angle instead of straight on. Basically it is garbage. I shall link it below to rule it out. I need a recommendation on a very strong, solid, monitor arm, with easy movement as i like to extend the monitor outwards a lot. So really a good amount of height and reach is needed. Here are the monitor specs - Weight 13.4lb (6kg) 34 inches diagonally. Any reccomendations would be amazing! as this one i have supposedly should have been fine, but wasnt. Cheers. Rubbish arm i have right now - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Invision-Monitor-Arm-Height-Assisted-Adjustable/dp/B0765Y4CT5/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?keywords=monitor+arm&qid=1553448010&s=gateway&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1
  5. Just wanted to chime in and say how impressed i am with SLI recently. It seemed a couple years ago it was dying... honestly i think its making a comeback now. I've only had to go inspector on a couple games, and i've seen great scaling on so many! Here's to the future of sli! And hopefully more well made titles like Shadow of the tomb raider, battlefield V, and Strange brigade.
  6. Hi, i spend a lot of time on YT looking at comparisons between hardware. And these channels that do "vs" content mostly seem okay. But one seems to be spitting out benchmark videos that are clearly fake... and this channel seems quite large. "For Gamers" is the name of the channel. Here are some videos i believe are just fake ryzen running with this speed memory? Overwatch getting average 360fps? Its capped at 300. Ryzen at above 4000mhz memory again (theres a few more of these) and at 4.4ghz? Are these fake? Or am i going insane? Who is this company/person doing such huge amounts of highly binned benchmarks? Anyone got any info?
  7. The monitor being $70 should probably show its a scam. Also its a well known scam website according to ~google~
  8. This is clearly a scam. And using ltt content. https://www.hexpress.shop/index.php?route=product%2Fproduct&path=8&product_id=916 This is the link being advertised on facebook, alongside some LTT video clips (also shown on the website). Here is a screenshot of the post. (Non ltt video is also played, but not much, this is what can be seen in the screenshot) Just thought i'd let you know.
  9. Hi! I'm not great with audio devices and therefore have no clue about the item i need. I basically need a device to sit to the side of me while i'm on my computer, where i can control my microphone/headphone volume (and turn it off quickly if i need to). I own some Philips Fidelio x2 headphones so it would be nice to get some good audio out this device for them. I really have no clue if this even makes sense! Thankyou!
  10. i do not, i have only one hooked up (right now anyways)
  11. As i said, this doesnt work. On my 10th gen cards
  12. i did yes I'd say theres about 5% difference on average in most games, but up to like 30 in others
  13. Hi, i recently started using SLI (extremely impressed in performance and lack of stutter), but i was wondering if there was any way to make it so the bottom card (often labelled as number 2 in games/control panel), was the main one. I ask as the main card does seem to be taking more of the load than the second, and my top card is almost always 20 degrees hotter than the lower one. I was hoping to offset this somewhat by making the second card the one that does the most work. Anyone know how? P.S i've plugged the display into the second card and ran it in sli from there, but "card 1" still was doing all the heavy lifting (basically it made no difference)
  14. this is what i wanted to know yeah, on a side note, know any soft HB bridges? or am i ordering two single ones lol!
  15. So a strix card being wider (pushing nearer to the glass on the side my case) would not be an issue? and the bridge would not be left hanging infront of the narrower card? Also i'm aware a 1080 ti would be better, but this 1070 ti was a gift, and i would not feel right selling it for a better model (also i play games pretty okay with sli luckily)
