  1. I have an MSI Z690 Edge Wifi DDR5 board with the 3rd revision Intel I225-V NIC and unfortunately I have random dropouts way too frequently and sporadically. Sometimes I can go 3-4 weeks without a drop and then some days I will have 30 or more drops. Does anyone know a true fix to this crap? I’d like to avoid an RMA because AFAIK MSI will make me ship it from VA to CA on my own dime and will take 2 months or more to get me back something that may still have this crappy NIC anyway.
  2. how difficult was the installation for someone who is decently familiar with tinkering?
  3. any guides on process for repasting and changing thermal pads? I wouldn't know where to buy thermal pads to be honest.
  4. Hey everyone, I was just wondering whether there is something I should change about my current GPU temperatures. I mostly play mw2 but have noticed that my GPU gets to about 70C average with a max core of 75C as well as 85C average hotspot and 95C max hotspot. I have 3 ml120 pros blowing straight into the GPU from the bottom of the case at 800 rpm. I have 3 more intake fans going through my radiator on the side of the case and 3 exhaust fans on the top of the case. outside of changing thermal pads or paste, I’m not really sure what I can do or whether I should do something about these temperatures? The GPU fans spin up to about 75% which I would say is the maximum tolerable noise level.

  7. I will say that when I was trying to align the block so that the screen wasn't crooked, I did have to unscrew the 4 mounting screws a few times and kind of "shift" the block. You think that there is a possibility I really messed up the thermal paste application doing that?
  8. Thanks for the lengthy reply. As an electrical engineer, you think I would have been able to see the fallacy in my setup myself, but I guess you are right that even with the side intake, at best it is getting 50% clean air and 50% hot air. I don't have any thermal compound on hand at the moment and also have 3 phanteks t30 fans on the way, but do you think flipping the side fans to exhaust and the radiator fans to top intake would rectify some of the issues for the time being? When I get those new fans in I will likely place those fans on the radiator, put the radiator on the side as intake, and have the ml120s as top exhaust and the bottom ll120s as intake. Also for the fans on the radiator is it best to have them side panel side or internal side?
  9. After a night of running MW2 on my new setup HWMonitor measured my max temperature for my cpu package at 89C. I am aware that this cpu runs very hot, but that seems a bit excessive. My Specs are: CPU: 13700k Mobo: MSI Z690 EDGE WIFI DDR5 Cooler: H150i Elite LCD 360mm AIO RAM: 32 GB 6400 MHz DDR5 GPU: MSI Gaming Z Trio 3080 PSU: HX1200i Storage: 980 Pro 2 TB Case: Lian-li O11 Dynamic Windows 10 Currently I do not have the thermalright cpu frame but plan on acquiring it. Top is configured as exhaust with the radiator and included ml120 rgb elite fans Side is intake with 3x ll120 rgb fans Bottom is intake with 2x air series sp120 fans I have not touched bios, all drivers are up to date. I have all case fans running at about 1000 rpm as well as the radiator fans as I am a bit sensitive to noise. Gpu fans are running at about 1600 rpm. Any suggestions as to how I can fix these temperatures? I know my fans aren't working very hard but surely I shouldn't be this high right?
  10. I'll ask him what driver he is currently on, thanks!
  11. I'll add this to the potential list of fixes, thanks much! it's this one in an itx case. I can't see it being a problem really but I could be wrong? It is paired with a 3900x and a dark rock pro 4
  12. I have a Gigabyte 5700 XT OC 8GB and I just simply cannot find any driver or any solution that makes this thing not crash within 5 minutes of gaming. It is beyond frustrating and I have given AMD 6 months of time to fix it and they still haven't. I purchased it in mid January at microcenter so I doubt I have any recourse with them, and I have contacted Gigabyte but their customer service always redirects me to their RMA department but their RMA department only offers to send me the same card I am assuming. In lack of a better way, how the f*** do I receive a card that will actually work. To me this is absolutely insane to me that I can spend $400 and have no solution to my problem apparently. Any ideas on how to handle this situation would be greatly appreciated. I would have addressed this sooner but my dad is actually the owner of the card and I didn't know about the issues until very recently. I have tried 50+ solutions and drivers to no avail.

  14. So, I need 2 8 pin connections to power my 1070 ftw and all I have is 2 psu cables that terminate to 8 pin and 6 pin connections. In other words, the two cables have an 8 pin connection and a 6 pin connection each. Would it be safe to use the 8 pin connection from each cable and just zip tie down the two 6 pin connections?
