I know this thread it quite old but. i have a thumb drive which i plug in into a MAC book.. and suddenly it became write protected. and i also try to use diskpart to clear the readonly state but no luck. i cannot change this. ► current read-only state: yes can you help me please ? or my usb drive is broken already ? i already try some 3rd party low level formatting tool but still the error is "write protected"
