  1. Hello, I am currently looking for a headset since my headphones have broken. My research has led me to the Logitech G933 and the HyperX Cloud Flight, both of which have strong features going for them. I decided to go wireless because I like to eliminate as much cable clutter as possible. These are some of the positives I have heard about these headsets that I find attractive: G933 Good surround sound (most headsets apparently have crummy surround sound) Good sound quality Comfortable Flights Good stereo sound Comfortable Good mic I really don't care about mic quality because almost any headset mic is better than my current mic from the times of Windows XP (just working with what I have) If anyone owns a pair of these headsets, or has any experience with these brands, could you advise me on which is a better pick since I am torn between the two? Or is there a better headset than the ones I am looking at, what is it and why? P.S. I'm not on a strict budget although i would like to keep it below 200, any headset below that range is fine as long as there's good sound quality and ergonomics. Thanks!
  2. Could anyone help me out with selecting ram for Ryzen? At my local microcenter, it appears that there are no b-die rams in stock, so I am left with the other options. This poses a memory problem for me as I am building a ryzen system. Is there a non-b-die ram that would work well with ryzen? I am planning on using an Asrock x370 taichi motherboard with a ryzen 1700. I am thinking of using 3000mhz dominator platinum's ( CMD16GX4M2B3000C15) as they are listed for compatibility under AMD's and Corsair's websites, but not on the Taichi's memory QVL on Asrock's website. Any thoughts or recommendations would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
  3. Hi people, I have a quick question, and I say quick because I may be picking up the parts for my PC today. As you could probably tell by the title, I am unsure of what ram to use. I was going to go with the asus x370-f, but am now considering the Taichi because I have heard positive reviews of it. Plus it comes with integrated wifi, a plus for me. Searching for compatible ram for this board, however, has been a pain in the butt for me, or maybe I am not doing it right. I have been using the Asrock QVL for memory, which does not indicate the previously mentioned memory, but I saw 2 builds on PCPP that included the exact ram with this motherboard. Question: Is it ok to pair this ram with the x370 taichi and expect this type of performance, or use some other ram...OR should I go with an x370-f with some other ram P.S. I am using a ryzen 1700 for my build Thanks! https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/X370 Taichi/#Memory https://pcpartpicker.com/b/KfdXsY https://pcpartpicker.com/b/3xsZxr
  4. Thank you for your helpful responses! I just didn't know whether an ultrawide (2560x1080) changes recommended vram. In the description of one of Linus' videos, it shows a recommendation for the rx 580 (4 gb) for 1080p, but for 1440p, it shows a recommendation for the rx 580 8gb variant, and I made the assumption that a 2560x1080 ultrawide would be a middle ground for those resolutions. One primary factor for my build is "future proofing," hence why I went with an AMD processor, as AM4 will be supported until 2020. When the time comes I can just change CPU's, but I am unsure about GPU's because pricing is fluctuating like crazy because of cryptominers so I'd like to get a GPU that lasts me quite a bit of time, assuming that games are going to be using more and more VRAM as the years go on.
  5. Hello, I'm looking to build my first pc. I am planning on using an rx580 as my monitor of choice is a Freesync monitor. I didn't want to go the NVIDIA GPU/G-Sync route because that setup would cause me to exceed my $1500 budget (n.b. as this is my first rig, I need a monitor so that too is part of the budget). I was hoping to strictly buy from Micro Center (I prefer buying in person rather than online), but their selection of rx 580s are limited. I thought that I may need 8 GB VRAM to properly run the 29" ultrawide I am hoping to buy, but someone/some people have taken the 8 GB cards I was looking at. They have one "open box" 8 GB card from MSI but I figured that 1. I want to avoid open box when I'm trying to build a pc to last me a good number of years 2. The red isn't going to match the black/blue/white scheme. I know this sounds petty but it's going to look extremely off considering that I am going for a case with a tempered glass side panel. The only cards that are in stock AS OF NOW are 4gb cards from Sapphire (nitro+), MSI (Armor), and XFX. Currently, I am thinking about the sapphire card, because I have heard good things about its design and performance, but then again, I am unsure whether it will be able to run games properly at 2560x1080 as it has 4gb VRAM. TL;DR: I would like to know whether 4gb VRAM is sufficient to run games properly at 2560x1080 at 75 fps or whether I should buy an 8gb RX 580 online, even though prices are inflated My Parts, if it helps: Ryzen 7 1700 w/ wraith spire ASRock X370 Taichi mobo EVGA 650BQ 650W 80+ Bronze Cooler Master MasterFan Pro 12mm Air Pressure (2) G.
