So as many of you know, aura sync compatible LED strips are pretty expensive, even for a small length. I got bored and decided I wanted to control a 7 meter LED strip around my rooms ceiling with aura, and after closer inspection it turns out most standard RGB LED strips are compatible with aura, its just some strips may need to have there pins switch so that there in the correct order. With this knowledge, I wired them up to my motherboard and wrote some code using the aura SDK. My code took control of all the lighting in my system (except DRAM because this is not actually allowed to be access via the SDK yet), worked out the average color of the screen and then updated the lights to that color. Of course there is some other things going on like smoothing and such to get it to look better, but here it is on a very flash youtube video.
