  1. Hi there, So I'm looking for a laptop a little different from what most people are: A super cheap laptop with little processing power (iGPU, high end dual core or low end quad core CPU, 2-4 GB of RAM) - essentially a Chromebook with a larger screen, enough power to run Chrome/Remote Desktop/Paint, can run Windows 10, and has a decent keyboard. Here are the must-haves: * Membrane keyboard with long key travel or mem-chanical quiet keys * As close to $350 as possible * 1080p 13-15inch display (TN panel would be fine) * Weighs no more than 5 pounds * Has at least 2 USB 3.0 type A ports, a gigabit ethernet port, an HDMI out port, and a headphone jack * Runs off of an SSD (upgradable would be nice - but a 256 GB soldered SSD should be fine) * Is x86 based (No ARM Raspberry Pi solutions) * Has at least 5 hours of battery life * 802.11ac WiFi support To explain my use case a bit: For the last year and a half or so, I've been carrying around an old 12 pound laptop from 2008 that I've been keeping alive, but sadly, the motherboard finally gave up the ghost (I got it for $10 at a garage sale, so I'm surprised it lasted this long). Anyway, my main rig at home (Core i5-7600K @ 4.9 GHz, GTX 1050 Ti, 16 GB DDR4) is what I mainly use, and often I will use my laptop out and about to Remote Desktop in to my computer at home, and will use that mainly. I'm not gaming over RDP, so the increased latency isn't too much of an issue, and the compression artifacts usually aren't too bad. Anyway, I'm also going to be using this laptop for taking notes in class and basic productivity stuff - so a decent/quiet keyboard is a necessity. Given the sheer number of laptops out on the market, I'm sure at least one of them has the specs I'm looking for - it's all just a bit overwhelming. I also won't turn down more horsepower, but that $350 is the main factor that will probably limit things. Anyway, if anyone has suggestions / recommendations, they would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, adinbied
