  1. I'm going to do some light gaming, school work, sometimes video editing, etc. I do go on a vacation to Korea every summer so I need a laptop.
  2. After a long time of consideration, I've basically narrowed my search for a decent laptop to six choices: Asus Vivobook S14 S410UN-NS74 -$800 Asus Zenbook 13 UX331UN-WS51T - $1000 Asus Zenbook Flip 14 UX461UN-DS74T - $1300 Acer Swift 3 SF314-52G-55WQ - $650 Dell XPS 13 9365 - $1050 HP Spectre x360 15-BL152NR -$1100 refurbished, $1400 new I'm stuck. I am actually mostly looking at the Asus Vivbook and the Asus Zenbook 13. For the vivobook, the price looks very good for the specs it offers. However, the zenbook is still a pretty good value and has better portability. I also heard good things about dell XPS 13 and was impressed by it when I tested it out at microcenter. As for the zenbook flip, it was a similar experience. For the acer swift 3, I saw a lot of videos about it, good reviews, saw the good value and the solid specs, and was also impressed by it at microcenter by the build quality relative to its price. Finally for the HP Spectre, as I was browsing Amazon, I instantly fell in love with it, especially the design and specs. When I tested it out in Bestbuy, I was truly impressed, but the price holds me back as it is the most expensive in the list. So the real questions are: to what extent does the thickness, weight, and size matter? to what extent does touchscreen or 2 in 1 matter, especially in the future? to what extent do processors and ram matter? for me ssd and a dedicated graphics is almost a necessity. what is the best choice out of the six? If you have any other recommendations for a laptop, I would gladly consider. Just know that I would prefer at least an i5, dedicated graphics(mx150 preferably)(Im fine with integrated if it comes to it though), thin, 8gb of ram, ssd, ips panel, decent price, and less then 14 inches(unless very impressive like hp spectre) And please not the acer aspire as I just don't like tn panels on laptops.
  3. yeah, but it will be pretty good for another 2-3 years and I will be able to play some older games or less taxing games at low settings after 4-5 years. I mean I've played rainbow six siege on gt630 at the lowest settings at 40fps...
  4. Its 1 inch thicc...didn't I say ultrabook...
  5. Uh...$280 won't get me far in gaming.
  6. Hello, I am looking to buy a laptop, but I can't seem to choose or fix my mind on a particular one. I am a student and I am trying to get a new laptop. My parents said that once I get it, I will have to use it for 4-5 years. Because of this, I am currently trying to look for a more future proof laptop. Is there any laptop out there that is good enough? Although I don't particularly plan to use it for video rendering or whatnot... I do play games pretty often. Almost every summer, I visit Korea and I want to be able to play games often. Because of this, the laptop should have: good graphics: mx150, 940mx is fine ultrabook: weight doesn't matter too much, but thickness does budget: < $800 (I can go up to $1000, but I prefer not to) Display: IPS panel...quiet a bit important I do have a interest in 2 in 1 and touchscreen but its not necessary. So far I have looked at: Acer Swift 3 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0746P25QX/ref=psdc_13896615011_rv_t3_B0786TPWBP (Not to sure if it will be too future proof) Asus Vivobook S - https://www.amazon.com/VivoBook-i7-8550U-GeForce-Windows-S510UN-EH76/dp/B0786TPWBP (Lot of review say build quality is a bit questionable) HP Spectre 15 - https://www.amazon.com/HP-Spectre-15-BL152NR-TouchScreen-Laptop/dp/B0799849GX/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1526346851&sr=1-4&keywords=hp+spectre+x360&dpID=41kSMygdEAL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch#customerReviews (1. Its expensive, 2. refurbished) Lenovo Flex 15 - https://www.amazon.com/2018-Lenovo-Flex-15-Laptop/dp/B07CX7Y1ZW/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1526526795&sr=8-6&keywords=940mx+lenovo+yoga (I would rather get the HP). Asus UX331 - https://www.amazon.com/UX331UN-WS51T-Ultra-Slim-WideView-Processor-Fingerprint/dp/B078T1715R/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1526606200&sr=8-5&keywords=mx150&dpID=41oYWmSOEcL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch (compared to HP Spectre...nah) Acer Aspire 5 - https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-i5-8250U-GeForce-A515-51G-515J/dp/B075KCJHMD/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1526606200&sr=8-1&keywords=mx150&dpID=51HItPP1h3L&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch (questionable build quality, pretty thicc, and tn panel) I'm confused. I initially wanted HP Spectre because of the design and specs...but is the price worth it? Refurbished? Thanks...
  7. I found some Korean monitors on eBay. I know that the company itself is legit, but I don't know if the actual seller and stuff is legit. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Perfect-CROSSOVER-320F-144-EOC-Unbelievable-CURVED-Gaming-Monitor-32-Red-Wine/282744926988?hash=item41d4e9330c:g:f7MAAOSwYVlaFpDE https://www.ebay.com/itm/Perfect-Crossover-UW3535-TIO-HDR-Boost-Clock-120Hz-35-Curved-Gaming-Monitor/182920115776?_trkparms=aid%3D888007%26algo%3DDISC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D49476%26meid%3D52c4527851a3496982fa39f7a10fd5f1%26pid%3D100009%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D2%26sd%3D282744926988&_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982 If anyone know or could find out it would be great. I'm just not ready to waste money on some random monitor that is cheap. What do you think? Please comment, thx.
