  1. No, custom PC built by me. I've had this problem ever since I built it but have never really seem it as a 'big' problem till now.
  2. Hi guys, So I have a problem where Windows doesn't save some of my settings if I've changed them. For example, the default Power Plan in Settings is 'Balanced'. If I change it to 'High Performace' then reboot, it reverts back to 'Balanced'. This also happens when I try to remove Safe Mode from my Boot Menu. When I click 'Apply' to only have Normal Windows as my OS and reboot, none of my changes save. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks!
  3. Ok. And it would seem as though the Intel Diagnostic Tool download no longer exists (it leads me to an 'Error: Page Not Found' page when I click download)
  4. I'm not sure how to check my VRM temps. My PSU is a EVGA G3 1000watt, so should be plenty of power for my system?
  5. Sorry if I worded that horribly. No, loading Optimized Defaults in the BIOS resets everything. So there was No CPU oc, and the voltage would have been set to auto.
  6. Hmm that's a good point. However, some of the dips are very close to each other..
  7. From what I can tell my temps aren't too high. I ran a 20 minute Aida 64 stress test and for the most part my CPU temps were below 70c. I thought maybe my CPU could not be getting enough voltage, but for that FireStrike stress test, I had loaded Optimized Defaults in my BIOS. So wouldn't the optimized default voltage be enough for stock clock speeds?
  8. I'm using an NZXT X52 cooler. My temps seem fine, but if I can't fix my problem before this weekend I'll go ahead and open it up... Thanks you
  9. Hello guys. I really need your help. So For the past month I have been experiencing very weird Frame Rate issues and random frame rate drops/stuttering. Basically every 5-15 seconds my frames drop and I get a stutter, which is very annoying. So I ran some tests. My GPU and CPU usage looked pretty normal, same with the temps. I tried lowering my GPU overclock, but that didn't help. So I tried disabling my CPU overclock. That too didn't help. While running a Fire Strike Extreme Stress Test, I found that, according to the charts, every 10-20 seconds or so my CPU clock speeds dropped drastically, from 4.5GHz to anywhere from 3.6GHz to 1.4GHz. This really shocked me. Why was my CPU doing this? The CPU usage, according to CAM, was in the 40%-70% region, meaning it should have stayed at it's maximum clock speed, right? When my PC is idle, I have seen my CPU do this, where it'll drop from it's normal 4.8GHz clock speed to around 2GHz. But I thought it only did that because it was idle. How can I fix this? Could this be the cause of my random frame drops in games? Please, help! Specs: i7 7700K ASUS Maximus IX Formula 32GB of RAM GTX 1080Ti 1440p 144Hz Display Thank you
  10. Hello, So basically for the past month I have been getting random frame drops every 10 seconds or so while playing games (anywhere from 5-20FPS out of the blue). I have a 1080Ti, which for these tests I have overclocked to 2050MHz, a i7 7700K @4.8GHz, 32GB of RAM, and a 144Hz 1440p monitor.. For the time being I have only run 2 tests, one in CSGO and one in Rainbow Six Siege, where I have specifically payed close attention to my FPS and tried to get my frames to drop (so that I can try to figure out what is causing it). To be honest, I don't remember what my GPU and CPU usages were before my abnormal frame drops began to occur, so I decided to ask here. Below are screenshots of my GPU and CPU usages in the two games (the first screenshot is CSGO and the second Rainbow Six Siege). Does it look normal? (edit: I do see that my CPU usage in CSGO is really 'wacky' and all over the place, but is this normal, considering CSGO is a pretty undemanding game?)
  11. So I ran a game of CSGO with Bots and an empty custom game of Rainbow Six Siege, each for about 5 minutes. Here are my CPU and GPU usages: (first is CSGO, second is R6S)
  12. So I had fast startup enabled. which I went ahead a disabled. Didn't help with my frame drops. However I think I may have found a temporary fix. I lessened my OC on my GPU by 25MHz and I had found that, while I still get frame drops, they are usually not as extreme as before. I also set my frame cap to 155, so that if it dropped 10 frames I shouldn't notice it, since its still above 144 FPS. While testing everything out and trying to see if I would get a random frame drop, I did notice that my GPU usage was bouncing from about 97% usage to 91%. and occasionally dropping to the low 80s. I don't know if this is a direct correlation of my frame drops yet, but I'll try to figure it out. Edit: I am going to post a screenshot of both my GPU and CPU usage after about 5 minutes of running around in a game of Rainbow Six Siege.
  13. I actually shut down/reboot very often. I typically don’t set my PC to sleep very often because when I wake it up the RGB profiles on my keyboard and CPU cooler don’t apply for some reason (yeah I know silly reason not to set my PC to sleep). I’ll definitely look into this.
  14. Yeah, I don’t assume my CPU is the direct cause of my problems... I’ve always had the Instant Replay feature off
  15. Finally got around to doing a fresh install of drivers. I used DDU to clean them out then installed the 397.64 drivers (slightly old). However, I am still getting unstable frames in a lot of games. I have noticed that the frame drops are a bit more prevalent on games on my SSD rather than hard drive. Maybe an unstable overclock is causing my problems? I have my 1080Ti OC’d pretty high (2075MHz). I’m going to see if dropping it to 2025-2050MHz might solve my problem.
