  1. Thanks man and I will do! Also just learned about the bios update. My bro has a Sandy bridge cpu luckily so should be all good
  2. Hey folks!! I fried my pc and have an insane amount of stuff to buy for house, family, business etc this year so on a very tight budget... this is my plan. Just wondering if this will be a decent setup to last a year until I can build my dream Used build https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/fY4jyX Any parts priced at zero are part I already have. Thanks
  3. Yeah , ill just get that build in the mean time. Then once i get the cash i can get this ? https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Snedz89/saved/tvR4CJ But ill probably keep the motherboard from the budget pc.
  4. Infact ignore that lol need to keep reminding myself its all temporary amd the cheaper the better lol
  5. Looks like a plan. Thanks man. But like i said i already have a 550w evga psu and a case lol So would getting a 1060 with the extra cash from that be ok with that cpu?
  6. Around £400-500ish. Upgrade path is a must. The rig will be upgraded with a high end cpu and gtx 1070ti/1080 within 3 months. Got ALOT of other things to pay for over the next few months(decorating house, xmas for family, tools for company etc) so it really is a very temporary build just to tide me over until i get that out the roadGpu+cpu will be sold as i upgrade.
  7. Right ladies and gents! I fried my pc 100% last week. So ive shopped around a bit already myself. But then i thought i'd ask the collective knowledge of the linus forum members for some help. I challenge all of you to design the cheapest pc for 1080p gaming at medium to high settings. Must include motherboard, gpu, cpu, ram etc Doesnt need to have a psu or a case as i already have them. Must have a modern upgrade path as this will be a temprary build to upgrade over the next few months. And must be designed using uk pricing as i live in Scotland. Thanks in advance to any people to reply!
  8. Tried the cmos reset button on the back of the mobo. But ill try the battery
  9. Completely rebuilt the system. New psu new brand new power lead along with 5 old ones. Nada
  10. Funnily enough the rig youve got listed is exactly what i plan on buying. Real problem is im in the middle of redecorating my house, xmas coming up so presents for everyone then stupid amounts of presents for step daughter. AND!! Im seld employed so need like 2k for the 2 weeks off during christmas...........
  11. I should add that the leds including the led on the internal power button light up when i connect power Sad times bruh!!! And it is. Was just about to put a 1060 in it to finally make a semi decent rig......
  12. I know, believe me i know lol trying to put that thought to the back of my mind
  13. So..... tried ocing my pc from 4.4ghz at stock voltage to 4.7ghz. Raised voltage from 1.3 to 1.4. Everything seemed fine. Was a great day. Next morning i turned it on, went to make coffee, came back to what seemed to be a pc that powered down by itself. Got back from work and pushed the motherboard power button(hadnt conmected case power button). And nothing happened at all.... no post, no hd flash, not even a fan spin. This has happened before, so immediatelu thought it must be that cheap cx500 psu thats blew. Ao the new psu arrived today and connected everything up and still nothing.... What should i do?
