  1. yeah, im just gonna have to spend a lot of time performance tweaking i guess. im thinking if i can safely get my cpu up to 3.8 to 4.0 ghz i should see a noticeable increase in performance. then as boost to the video card too of course, and im gonna use after burner for this so im probably gonna uninstall zotac's fire storm, as its complete shite top begin with.
  2. sorry haha, yes my ram is 2132 (though these cards can handle 2800) and im not sure if i'll try over clocking that, i know the dangers of it ram oc. I'm talking about my gpu's memory clock.
  3. h90 is 140, h100i is, yes 240. which is why i want one and i have a master case pro 5 form cooler master, that should be fine yeah? its got some decent airflow.
  4. im gonna tinker with oc some in the next few days i guess. im pretty sure my friend doesn't oc at all but i'll ask him. i have the corsair h90 which should be able to keep my cpu well below 80 with an over clock and i'll probably get a better one in the near future like the h100i. im still trying to find out though why my memory clock is locked at half the advertised speed (10GHz to the 5 GHz i have) and if the would even make that big a difference.
  5. nah this isnt freesync or gsync enabled. thus far i haven't really noticed anything in Task Manager but i'll look again
  6. i don't see why but maybe, i keep them up to date and it doesn't always seem to be as good as advertised ya know? as far a gsync im not sure, my monitor doesn't have it.
  7. I gotcha, and i hear ya with the sleep bit mate. so at this point im pretty sure my cpu isn't an issue, and quite frankly im not sure where this leaves me. my buddy and i just started playing borderlands the pre-sequel for example. hes running on a mix of high and max video setting running a solid 130 or 150 frames with no drops. he also has slightly lower end hardware. most of the time I probably average around 90 to 100 fps but get sever drops, down to something like 40. i don't know if the halved memory clock speed would do that or how to fix it. in another post someone had suggested this crap monitor i had was a bottle neck, and it kinda was, but i have a 1 ms 144 hz one now and still run into these issues. (preferred maximum performance is on too)
  8. Oh, heres online results too, a little more detailed https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/24522274?
  9. So I ran the test with arx open and my gpu's software, zotac's fire storm, and during which i noticed two things that seemed quite noticeable, (didn't have arx open during the GPU tests) first in the cpu test are cores were utilized maxing cpu usage out around 93% but gpu usages stayed lower, i believe less than ten, and the big one being the memory clock, this would not surpass 5005 Mhz, or 5 Ghz of course and this card is rated at 10 Ghz. could that be an issue? i attached the tests results too.
  10. seems to happen even without it but its actually on my phone so the data is sent to it form my pc, which ill try tunring off of course and test that but im gonna try fire strike and use hwinfo64 aswell
  11. The power management thing seems to have help a little and i doubt thermal throttling is occurring aswell, im actually using the arx controller form Logitech to do some real time monitoring and the warmest my cpu ever gets is about 40c usually hanging around 35-37, but yeah ill stress test it aswell see if i cant find anything.
  12. I'll check into that, one thing ive though was my cpu can't keep up with my gpu but im not sure, nor do i really know how to test it.
  13. So if a post exists i haven't yet found it, but earlier last summer I got my first gaming rig which i customized and bought form cyber power (probably a mistake I know). it's a pretty solid system that should be able to handle most games on ultra and id say everything on high, however on most games i play i tend to get this odd frame stuttering. i typically try to get my games capped at 144 frames or turn on v-sync, as turning it off sees to make it worse.usually running about 144 or 110-120ish on games running high/ultra but they sage down to 50 for less and the game play turns choppy. Here's my specs of course and yes my drivers are update date, and any other info needed to hep i can probably produce: GPU:Zotac AMP GTX 1080 CPU: i76800k @ 3.4 Ghz -- Cooled with corsair h90 140mm liquid cooler MOBO: gigabyte x99 ultra gaming RAM: corsair vengeance 4x 4GB 2800 Hz DISPLAY: ASUS VG248QE 24" Full HD 1920x1080 144Hz 1ms (dvi-d connection which I'll switch to DPI soon) Main drive: 240GB Western Digital SSD Bulk storage and game drive: Western Digital 1TB HDD PSU: Corsair CS850M gold certified (850w) *** I Do not over clock as im not really experienced with it and don't want to fry my system though i do have the capabilities of doing so. any tips or possible solutions are, of course, greatly appreciated!
  14. I love your response style haha! i may upgrade to an 8700k later on but for now i'll just get a monitor, thanks mate!
