  1. Haha, I can definitely relate to that and I feel like I've resisted trying it out for so long simply because of my disdain for how hard Microsoft tries to shove it in our faces (a-la adding a shortcut in my toolbar with the latest update)
  2. Got sent this WSJ article the other day at work (Sorry for the paywall content....) https://www.wsj.com/articles/quit-chrome-safari-and-edge-are-just-better-browsers-for-you-and-your-computer-11594558801?mod=djemptech_t but found it a bit interesting and was wondering what others more in the know might be thinking. I'm currently using Firefox but this article peaked my interest enough to consider making the switch. Have any of you switched? What are your thoughts?
  3. Thanks for the information. I'll try them out.
  4. Thanks for the suggestion. What would you say are the highlights of these over others of a similar price point. Is closed back the best choice in your opinion for my use case? I see a lot of talk about open/closed back and I'm just not sure what the best direction is I'm not very versed in audio stuff
  5. Looking for a recommendation for a set of headphones or a headset. I'm currently using a Samson Go Mic which isn't top tier but it's gotten the job done so I don't feel that I need to go with a headset but I'm not apposed to it. My budget is $150 US and will be used mostly for gaming, some Netflix, Twitch. Thanks in advance for any suggestions
  6. The VGA light issue is back. I'm not 100% sure at this point but it seems like it may be related to one of my monitors. I have two of them a ViewSonic XG2402 and a Asus VG248QE and it seems to be happening when the ViewSonic is plugged in. I've obviously tried each monitor independently on reboots, swapped cables to rule out a bad caboe. Hopefully someone has some ideas why the monitor would b causing issues. I've got a 1060 that I may try and swap in to do a bit more testing.
  7. I used a simple remote/controller kit in my system for quite a while. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JZCNPNV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  8. Ya it's pretty strange, I did have one boot that my second display couldn't get a signal after unplugging the display and powering back on it was fine other than that no other issues. I tried reseating the gpu so I'll see if that fixes that. As for the rgb I only have 1 ARGB header what would be the best solution to keeping that from being problematic?
  9. Yes, it says on in windows. 4 case fans and 2 strips.
  10. Hi Everyone, Hoping to get some help in diagnosing an issue I'm periodically getting on my newly upgraded system. I've got a 3600x with a Asus Tuf Gaming x570 and a MSI Gaming 2070 Super. My system boots fine most of the time however I periodically get some weird behavior usually on reboots, I'll get a white LED on my mobo (VGA according to my manual). But I can't seem to figure out why this is happening. Everything seems to be working fine despite it being illuminated, to add to the weirdness this happens I seem to also have an issue with some of my RGB that it will very rapidly flash the RGB lights in question are all connected to my ARGB header. Thanks in advance for any help.
  11. Anyone have any thoughts on this laptop? Asus Q536FD Seems like a great laptop for the price. Just worried that GTX 1050 would be pretty lacking for a 4k display.
  12. Thanks actually been looking at the 2-in-1 looks like a nice machine
  13. I'm not particularly picky on those aspects but preferably 8 hours with a light workload (I'm usually not far from an outlet at work so if I can't get that it's no big deal) weight wise I guess not much heavier than my MBP if possible so 4 ish lbs
  14. I need a suggestion for a laptop for work. I'm upgrading from my MacBook pro. I have a gaming computer at home but might do some light gaming while I'm traveling etc. I'd like to stay with something not super gamer looking and on the portable side preferably with a touch screen. I'm in the US and price range can be anywhere from 1,000 to 1800. Thanks in advance for any suggestions
  15. Although Path of Exile doesn't fit your requirements that great I will vouch for it being an amazing game. I've also put thousands of hours into the game and purchased WAY too many stash tabs.
  16. It's a pure gaming pc for me I have a laptop I use for work. I don't really have an future games I'm eyeing at the moment but I'm sure more will come up that I'll want to play so making incremental improvements on my rig seems like something that would be smart.
  17. I don't think I'm bottlenecking Rocket League runs great. The FPS drops and stutters are sadly pretty normal for POE from my understanding and it happens even on very high end rigs when the particles really start to fly. I'm really just looking to make an upgrade since I've got some money to do so. My display is a 24" 144hz I've got an i5 6600k with a Hyper 212 Cooler and 16 gb of 2133 ddr4
  18. Hi All, In here I've linked my current build I'm using. I use if for primarily for gaming (Path of Exile and Rocket League mostly). I've got about $500 USD to spend toward and upgrade on my rig and wanted to get some input on what to do. Overall the rig does pretty well on both games although I do get occasional stutters in POE particularly in when there are a lot of particle effects flying around. Because of this I have been leaning toward a GPU upgrade (1070 or 1070ti?). The other consideration I've made was replacing my monitor with a 144hz G-Sync enabled one. I only have room for the one monitor currently so I'd be selling the original I am open to other upgrade suggestions so please feel free to make then if you see a more impactful upgrade I can make with my budget. So long as whatever I get falls under my $500 budget any resell value I get out of my current hardware will allow for another nice incremental upgrade maybe an additional SSD or MORE RGB! Thanks in advance. My Current Rig
  19. Thanks! Hadn't really considered going ITX, he has a Disk Drive from an old system he wanted to include so this would be nice since it looks like that will fit (I forgot to take that into consideration on the original build). He has a fairly new display so the display wouldn't be necessary. I'm thinking we can go with a slightly better on the GPU and increase the size for both hard drives for more capacity. Thoughts? 20. Thanks. Would a 1080 be worth it in this build though? And Intel i5 over AMD Ryzen 5? I figured the extra threads would be more valuable?
  21. Hi All, I'm trying to put together a build for my father in law and looking for some input on the build. He's going to be using it for some light video editing and your typical workstation type stuff no gaming. Budget is ~$1200 US depending on black Friday prices I will probably upgrade the HDD to 2 TB Thanks in advance for any feedback.
