  1. I'm thinking of this: Asus ROG Flow X13 Ryzen 9 16GB 512GB SSD GTX 1650 13.4" Win10 Home Gaming Laptop given its the same price as the surface pro
  2. Hi All I'm just about to get an insurance refund of the Surface Pro 7 i7 16GB 256 (£1500 / $2000) - my question is, do I replace like for like or do I get something else. I wouldn't mind a better GPU, but I also like the slimline and 2 in 1 style of the Surface Pro. Is there anything else this is slimline, 2 in 1 with an nvida or amd gpu? I've had a look and its a minefield! I could switch to a laptop if the processing power warranted it. Use case is work, music production and some gaming (not high end, gaming PC is for that). Cheers!
  3. Hi, Can anyone tell me how to get started with wake on LAN? I have an Asus Strix x570 MB, have tried before and failed. Any guidance would be great. I'd like to be able to turn my pc on from another room seeing as I wired a long HDMI cable up to the Livingroom TV from the office!
  4. So issue still here. So far changed out the RAM and the PSU (including all wires) and still getting a Kernel 41 error. It was working for 8 hours today then it did a few resets with the same error code but my system files are corrupted. Having a total nightmare with this
  5. can't remember the make but is 80 bronze rated 750 watt, it's a but old now mind you. Re the memeory Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 32GB 3600 MHz DDR4 Quad Channel Memory Kit 32GB (4x8GB) Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX Black, PC4-28800 (3600), Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 18-22-22-42, XMP 2.0, 1.35V I'm still wonder if that could be the issue?
  6. Quad channel, all slot filled... That could actually be the issue. Does ryzen support quad channel.... Pc part picker recommend the memory but actually....
  7. Ryzen 3700x LPX 32GB (rated for 3600MHZ but currently at 2133 for testing) Strix 5700xt Strix x570 MB All running at stock right now
  8. Temps are OK - GPU not over 70 and CPU not over 80 under stress testing
  9. Can anybody help me out with some tech support!? Having an issues with the system crashing randomly, I thought it was the memory which has now been RMA'd, I did a repair install of windows and and it's been running for a couple of day without issues which was an improvement, now just tried to play Doom for 20 min or some and it crashed and reset with no dump file. I need help, can't figure out the issue and I'm pretty tech savvy!
  10. Ok so I know Linus a video on this a year or so ago but wasn't touch screen a focus. So let me explain the need case, I want to have a touch screen to use with my DAW (Bitwig). It can't really be bigger than 15" - 16" as I have a 49" ultrawide on my desk already, along with a bunch of other stuff. I'd like the touch screen to sit at an angle behind the keyboard but in front of the main monitor. Currently I have Surface Pro 7 which I extend my DAW desktop onto via Miracast, however, whilst touch lag isn't too much of an issues, display lag is. Does anyone have any solutions for this? I've seen some screens from the likes of Magedok but due to Covid I can't get my hands on one. The screen needs to support multitouch. Can anyone recommend any? Amazon is full items and I've no ides if any of them are worth the money, they could just be Ali Express cheapness! It's a shame Miracast doesn't work over ethernet. I've also tried with the likes of parsec but it does not play well with touch input.
  11. Tell me something I don't know!!! Living in Rural Scotland I have no options above 20mbps where I'm located. No ISP's run a faster connection to this property. 4g is the best solution available. In the city I have 350mbps so it's a massive drop! So unfortunatly your definitive solution, isnt a solution for me I look up this LTT video however!
  12. I only want one PC to benefit from the 2 connections, so the PC with the x2 ports will be the only desktop connecting. I read that windows can handle this if I simply select the 2 lan connections and click bridge.... but that sounds all to easy to me!!??
  13. Get a dual wan router and plug the other 2 routers into it, is that how this would work? Could be an idea if all else fails, but I have another long term solution in mind. Right now I just want to be able to bridge both connections for dual bandwith on one PC, as I have the hardware already.
  14. I'm sure this can be done but not 100% sure how to set it up, so I'm praying to the lords of tech that someone here can help! My motherboard has x2 LAN ports, one 2.5gb and a 1gb, it's the Asus Rog Strix X570-e. In the house I have a 4g router and a standard router hooked up to the phone line. Speeds are unfortunately slow, I can only pull around 20mpbs from 4g and I'm told the standard router will go to 17mbps (it isn’t due to be switched on until tomorrow so will need to test - just moved in). So, shocking speeds for a house that pulled 1.5TB last month. FYI - working on a way to improve the 4g but that might take some work. So, in the meantime, I want to hook both routers up via LAN to my main PC and be able to pull data from both at the same time. Can anyone provide instructions on how to do this without breaking my connection and creating all sorts of IP conflicts etc etc please?
  15. Had to do some tweaking to get a good experience in some games mind you, HUD to too far spread on some games. Had to force 3840 x 1440 in The Outer Worlds and max out the FOV 120, but once that was done, all good. And on the plus side, you get a frame rate increase by doing so! Total war is epic in full 5120 x 1440. Still to test HDR. Shall fire up tomb radier that one..... I guess you gotta expect some tweaking in the world of PC and ultrawide!
  16. Hitting around 60 fps, give or take, in games I've tired so far either on high or very high so happy with that. Love the screen, game changer! Make everything feel like a true upgrade! Do it people, do it....
  17. Both arrive tomorrow so heres hoping all works out!
  18. Casual gamer here. I want the ultra ultrawide for other things. I'd be happy with geting a stabe 60 fps on the monitor with the option to increase to said 120 in the future. So would the 5700xt manage that at high setting on most titles do you think? I can't see a great benefit in costt to preformance ratio by going to a rtx 2080
  19. Yep, it's an old one! That Samsung is 120hz, but I know where you're coming from. Personally I like the ultrawide so why the hell not go wider!
  20. On to the second part of my new build. Upgrading graphics. I love my 34" LG Ultrawide, but want to upgrade to a higher refresh rate curved monitor and I figure why not go all out and get the Samsung 49" C49RG90 (https://www.ebuyer.com/882341-samsung-c49rg90-49-qled-curved-ultra-wide-dual-qhd-gaming-monitor-lc49rg90ssuxen). I plan on pairing with the Asus ROG Strix 5700xt. Will this be enough to drive it? And I know some game wont support 32:9 etc etc, but I resume there will be no issues running them at a lower ratio and resolution when needed?
  21. Seen that too, prefer the non-air. Now figure out the best fan combo and how the hell I get all syncing on the RGB front!!
  22. Decided to go all out with my new Ryzen 9 build now, going for the Lian Li O11 case which, as it requires fans, I've decided go RGB however, I know nothing about how RGB works, I'm looking for some input! So I have the Asus ROG Strix X570-E board which has Aura Sync for the RGB, figure I use that but the board has different connectors (3 and 4pin, some addressable - which means what in RGB terms?), I'll need circa 6 fans and what to be able to sync the lighting with the mobo and potentially add some RGB strips into the case. Then to further matter, I want to add RGB lighting into my office/gaming/studio room and have it all synced..... is this even possible? Where do I start??
  23. I was looking at these! Didn't realise they were good for air cooling too! Cheers!
  24. Looking to upgrade my coolermaster haf x that I've had for years and keen on roomy dual chamber or cube case. Building a new Ryzen 9 system with Sapphire 5700 nitro +, 32gb ram at 3600 MHz, 2tb nvme + the system will have X3 3.5" drives and a 2.5 sad. Going with stock air cooling on the CPU for now, might put a cpu radiator in there at a later date... the motherboard is the Asus Rog strix-e so has nice RGB so would be a nice to have on the case too. Any recommendations?
