  1. I have a M.2 SSD that I have been using for almost three months. This morning I went to boot my PC and it wouldn't boot to windows. After a while I determined that my M.2 SSD probably died. In BIOs I see all of my other HDDs and SSDs but not the M.2. Is it possible it is dead? Is there a way I can get the data off it? I have tried using a different M.2 slot but got the same results. My motherboard is a Gigabyte Auros Z730 Gaming 3. Is it possible that this could be a motherboard issue?
  2. Thanks. I wanted to see if it were possible to load some 3D rendering onto the 1070 so I can have multiple applications rendering without a graphical performance hit. For example, running Unreal Engine on the 2070 and Maya or Houdini on the 1070 with a total of 16gb of VRAM.
  3. I installed an RTX 1070 with my GTX 1070 in my windows pc. I wanted to see if it were possible to use Window's Graphics settings to define what GPU to use for my apps. For some reason when I try to define what GPU to use for an app it just gives me my RTX 2070 as an option for both performance and power saving. Is there any way I can fix this or does this only work when Windows has integrated graphics as an option?
  4. I tried that and I'm still getting the same performance.
  5. I recently bought a RTX 2070 to upgrade to from my old 1070. After installing it my performance only increased a little bit and not like what others have been reporting. I get around 18600 in 3DMark Fire Strike while others get around 24000 with the same card. I remember I had this issue when upgrading to my 1070 a while back but I remember having to just reset windows to fix the problem and I would like to not do that this time. I have tried uninstalling the drivers in device manager and in settings>Apps & Features and reinstalling to the first driver version that launch with the RTX lineup. Everything I tried left me with the same results. My specs: i7-8700k Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming 3 WiFi 32gb ram EVGA RTX 2070 Black Thermaltake 650W PSU Any help in figuring this our is much appreciated.
  6. I did that, but I experienced the problem and much worse than before and it started happening not too long after booting up my computer without any programs opened.
  7. I already did that, I checked all motherboard, GPU drivers, and Windows updates.
  8. Within the last two-three weeks, my computer has been freezing when I open a program or app. Sometimes my mouse will freeze or skip everywhere and everything will slow down for up to 30 minutes. At times there will be a seven-minute delay between when I move my mouse and when the pointer moves on screen. In task manager, CPU, RAM, GPU, and disk are all around reasonable usage, (about 50%) and my max temps (after a full day of usage) for CPU and GPU are around 30 degrees C. My temps haven't changed since I built my PC a year ago. I originally thought that my HDD was going out which you can see my forum for that here which also may include additional helpful information. Eventually, I ended up reinstalling Windows on to an SSD, but I'm still experiencing problems. Now I think it could be my GPU. Generally, this only happens when I am opening an app that uses my GPU in some way. I also have problems when I have a lot of apps using my GPU (even though usage % is still below 100%). Generally, when my computer does recover from its thing I'll see "Rats! WebGL hit a snag!" message in Chrome, almost everytime. The last time it happened I had three Chrome windows opened, Unreal Engine, Blender, Firefox, and MagicaVoxel. One of my chrome windows had three tabs opened from scetchfab.com (which uses WebGL and the GPU) and when I switched to that windows after it being opened for a while my computer froze and my mouse pointer would not move. After several minutes I had to hit the reset button on my case. So since this only happens when I'm switching to tasks or windows or opening apps that use my GPU for rendering or task manager, I think it's my graphics card. But I don't know how to tell for sure or how to figure out what really is causing it. If I do figure out that my GPU is the problem, what can I do about it? This only started happening just three weeks ago or so and I have experienced no problems before since I built my PC. I've been using the same apps every day since then too. My specs are: CPU: i5-6600k GPU: MSI GTX1050ti RAM: 16gb Storage: 240gb SSD (C drive) 1tb WD blue 7200RPM (used as C drive in the link above) Motherboard: MSI H170 gaming M5
