  1. Budget (including currency): 0 Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: many systems for one monitor Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I'm looking for a switcher for my monitor, it has a display port connection. I want a switcher hub that would hook up to the monitor display port and have two or three hdmi inputs and a display port input. That way I can hook my game consoles and PC all up to one monitor without disconnecting. Does something like this exist?
  2. 1920's construction with a basement. I'm going to run the Cat6 lines (2 of them) the same way that our ISP brought there lines in (path of least resistance). I have 30 feet of underground pvc conduit that I'm planning on using to run the wires underground and up through the wall
  3. I figured as much. I was more so trying for the same look at the office computers
  4. So I have a project that I believe I covered all my bases. I have a detached garage that I turned into an office/game room. The Wi-Fi signal (even with an expander) is way too low. So I have a spool (200 feet) of Cat6 cable that I want to run out there. It's only 50 feet from the router. My question is, is it better to run the lines with no breaks or will using keystones (I have keystone wall plates that are wired to female connections) degrade signal?
  5. That's 2 people now, I'll take your guys word... Better than trying to frankenstein this pc to use the 16x slot.
  6. My thought is trying to do what's in the second image. Just not sure on height restrictions
  7. So running the card in the 4x slot won't really effect the performance? It's a msi 1050ti 4gb low profile card... Is there enough wattage coming from the 4x slot? The power supply is I believe like 300 watts
  8. My msi 1050 ti is a low profile with the shorten bracket. Any video on YouTube I've watched shows them install the card, just not the performance. I'm thinking of some crazy modification to rotate the card 180° with an extension cable, but still not certain on the room
  9. I can plug the card in, but it's plugged into the pcie 4x slot (due to the layout, 4x above the 16x) so it's not ideal
  10. I acquired a Dell optiplex 7040 last week and it's a pretty decent small form factor pc. My trouble is the pcie 16x slot location is one lower, so my msi 1050ti low profile will only plug in the pcie 4x slot. So my question is, is the ASL G1504 1050Ti 4GB Video Graphics Card any good? https://mister-ziel.myshopify.com/products/asl-g1504-1050ti-4gb-video-graphics-card-with-gp107-400-1290mhz-128bit-gddr5-support-hdmi-dvi-directx-12-for-gaming-pubg
  11. I noticed... I might actually get away with using an extender and rotating the gpu 180°, looks like it will work. Makes we wish the were gpu's with its connections on the other side (flipped)
  12. I thought about using a really short extender, there's just not a lot of room. And I trust my soldering skills to the point of removing the 4x slot... But then the added height of the card with the extender, don't know if the case will close. I just don't understand Dell for doing this to the small form, the standard 7040 has the pcie 16x as the first slot
  13. I just picked up a dirt cheap dell optiplex 7040. It's the small form but it's has the i7-6700, 16gb ram... But the pcie slots are flipped, the 4x is above the 16x. This is a shame, but can I still use my msi gtx 1050ti low profile in it? Even though it would have to plug into the 4x slot?
  14. SuperMicro is probably what I'll be going with. I just have to find a board with a pci-express x16 slot (2 would be nice, not sure about sli) and if I can overclock the cpu's
