Wow this is really good performance for the money, thanks!

Hello everyone, I'm trying to build a computer for my sister, so I figured I would just get some parts from newegg and build it. The problem is now she says she wants it to be really portable. I know laptops are always an option for portability, but they don't have good performance for the price. Do any of you guys know some alternatives to a laptop or tablet that allow portability? She will be using the computer for listening to music, watching videos, skyping, and playing some games that are easier to run (such as minecraft). My budget is around $600 USD. Thanks.

Wireless adapter is a MUST, no exceptions. But otherwise it does seem good.
-
How much will it cost? Or how much is it speculated to cost?

If I go with an APU would it be beneficial to wait for Kavari?
-
The SSD might go if I need to save money, but she would definitely appreciate it. She uses her optical drive fairly often, and she even plays some really old DVD games. Aren't the stock coolers loud? She might play some newer titles like Battlefield 4 on low settings, but mostly easier to run games like Left for Dead 2. Her computer simply has very bad hardware. (Intel Pentium, 100 GB HD, etc.)

She watches a lot of bluray movies that we have at home. Well if I was going with an APU then I might as well wait for Kavari.
-
It's $20 more, and I really don't want to spend any extra. Well the A10-6800k is an APU isn't it? and the SSD is for Windows boot drive because she constantly complains about how slow windows is, but I was thinking about removing it.

Hi everyone, I'm currently trying to get my sister a very nice present. She currently has a crappy laptop, and she wants an upgrade. Hopefully some of you guys can give me some tips and advice on the build. I originally planned on a budget of $700 USD, but I clearly blew that out of the water so please don't suggest spending any more (unless it's like $5 more). She would mostly use this system for web browsing, listening to music, watching movies and videos, and playing some games occasionally on low settings. I have everything she needs included in the build (monitor, peripherals, OS, etc.). Please give me some advice and suggestions on how to make it better. Criticism is great! Thanks for your time. It looks like a fun game, but I keep forgetting to buy it when I have money.

Folding at home is a program you run on your computer that folds proteins with your processor. Folding these proteins helps researchers to find cures for diseases. You won't make any money from it, but it's a nice feeling to do something that could possibly save someone's life. It's not hard because all you need to do is run a program on your computer and it will do the rest. I find it to be a bit fun because you can join a team (like the LinusTechTips team) and compete to see who can contribute the most. YOu don't actually do anything other than click a button to get it started though, so it might not be as fun for you. I hope this response is detailed enough.

Battlefield 4 definitely takes a long time to load, maybe I'll invest in an SSD just for this game because I play it quite a bit. Perhaps I'll just buy a bigger SSD and put my OS on it too.

The Orange Box (Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Half-Life 2: Episode 2, Portal, and TF2) was on sale a while ago for only $5.

I have the Turtle Beach PX3 Wireless headset and it's great. It wireless and it has great audio quality. It's comfortable to wear, even after a few hours. It's $100 USD, but it's worth every penny of it. Here's the link to buy it: http://www.turtlebeach.com/product-detail/ps3-headsets/ear-force-px3/50
