The Caped Procrastinator's Achievements

  1. Unfortunately I can't help there. The Meshify C was my first new case in a while and my first Fractal case at all. All of my previous cases were traditional mid or full tower which are considerably bigger than modern mid's.
  2. No luck. I recreated my USB install as well in the hopes that maybe I didn't make it UEFI boot, but nothing there either. I just moved it back to the original machine again. Dead. I think my SSD is hosed. And not under warranty.
  3. Done already. I've reached out to ASUS support (I hate doing that... not good previous experiences). Thanks for the ideas.
  4. With the AIO front mounted I barely had enough room for my video card.
  5. No. If I move it back to my old rig it shows up though. I know the slot can be bad from the factory, but I also know thats a pretty rare chance.
  6. That's what I figured at first too. My previous build I had to do the same thing and switch it from PCIe to SATA, but Asus appears to have removed the PCH storage configuration option.
  7. I just put a build together in the Fractal Design Meshify C with an ATX board. The case was actually a bit small for my taste, but everything fits. I have fat hands so trying to get somethings connected were a pain. Case is MUCH smaller than my old Corsair Carbide 400r.
  8. I'm putting together my new build from black friday deals. Part of it is a brand new ASUS String X370-F Gaming motherboard and Ryzen 7 1700. I'm reusing a 1TB WD Blue Sata M.2 SSD. The drive was working when it was removed from my previous machine (was a Windows 10 boot device) but I can't get it to recognize on the new build. I'm finding plenty of information on how to get nvme drives to get recognized, but nothing for sata drives. Suggestions?
  9. Looking for around $800 right now. My current screens are only 60hz panels, and I'm good with that for now. I do plan on moving up to larger g-sync panels after a video card upgrade (obviously sticking with green team.) I can take advantage of the extra cores right now for productivity, but I'm held back by the video memory when playing GTA V which is something I'd like to experience with higher quality settings.
  10. It's been a few years since I've done an upgrade, so I'm looking at dropping some money now during black friday, and again after tax returns come in this year. I'm currently rocking a GTX 970, a 4690k, and 32GB of mem. I use the system for work (software development with lots of virtual machines) and play (WoW, GTA V, Witcher 3, etc...) I'm considering a video card (GTX 1080) or internals refresh (1800x, mobo, and ram). I know my 970 is holding me back with the 3.5GB of mem, but I'd hate to pull the trigger on a 1080 or 1080ti and have Nvidia do something crazy in a few months. My screens are both 1080p so I'm not pushing anything crazy at the moment. Thoughts? Other internals or video card first?
