So, I made another post some time ago where I asked for suggestions for a new smartphone, my first one since I'm late to the smartphone party, and after some research and some advice from you guys I decided on waiting for the Xiaomi Note Pro 7, but it didn't get released in Europe, and I only found out about it around the end of April, and then I had other issues, so now I'm back here asking for advice! I forgot almost everything I researched, plus I'm sure there are new things on the market and on arrival, so I hope you can give me good advice :). You can read the previous thread if you want all the information, but basically I'm searching for a smartphone that has enough processing power/ram/whatever else to last 3-4 years without becoming unbearably slow(I know alot has to do with bloat and if I were to buy a smartphone with bloatware and a bad OS I should have some people helping me with that), a battery that wont die out easily(so no planned obsolescence), and a decent camera. I wont be playing games on it, I would mostly be using apps like telegram/google maps and the likes, listen to music, take photos/videos, and read .pdfs/ebooks(so I would like some explanations on which screens/smartphones in general would be better suited for reading). I was almost set on the Pocophone but then I noticed a pattern in reviews where the camera was... not good, especially during videos, and it kinda seemed like a gaming smartphone from said reviews, so I decided not to buy it, and now I'm really lost between this seemingly-infinity of smartphones. The budget is around 250€ and I live in Italy, depending on what I can afford with that and if I have to spend a little bit to gain alot, or maybe save some to lose features I don't care much about. I'm looking for any kind of useful advice, especially any news and reccomendations of good smartphones that fit my description.

Ok SO not to be a necromancer but I tought it was pointless opening a new thead for this: I only now know (after 1+ month of this information being out) that the Xiaomi Note 7 Pro will not have an european/italian version, so I waited for nothing I guess. Are there any news I should be aware of? The only thing that held me from the pocophone is the quality of the camera, I saw some videos and it doesn't make pretty videos, but the pictures are fine

For a while now the USB ports on my motherboard randomly stop working for a split second, and its bugging me alot, especially while gaming. I know its not the devices USB itself failing because multiple devices are having problems; my microphone and my mouse are the most obvious ones, since I use them alot. I have not noticed it yet with my keyboard or webcam. Is there a way to confirm thats its the motherboard without having to use another computer for a long time hoping to replicate the same problems? Anyway, I tried to see if the sockets fit well, and I noticed that its kind of unstable; it moves alot with the slightest movement from the male connector, its very "flexible". Anyone had any problems with this mobo? Is it me? Any way to fix this?

I was watching some review videos and they stress how the Pocophone F1 is better especially regarding the CPU and when it comes to games.. but I wont game at all on the smartphone, like maybe Tetris or Sudoku sometimes, certainly not PUBG mobile, I've got my 8700k/1080ti for that(I mean not the PUBG mobile :P). Does it also mean for a better experience overall/does it justify the 100€ difference with lets say, the Note 6 pro, which has 2 less ram? Does it make for a big QoL difference that its noticeable? Is the better processing power and RAM really gonna mean it'll perform nicely for a longer period of time, or will I have to replace them both around the same time? I'm just trying to see if the difference in price is worth it, because the Pocophone does seem good, but the Note 6 seems to be very similar in terms to spec, idk if I can justify the price difference; heres the comparison https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=9293&idPhone2=9333 I've also heard that the Note 7 should come out soon and still be around the 200€ price range with the 4gb edition, do you think its worth waiting for if I don't want to go for the F1?

I am looking for a relatively cheap smartphone(under 300€ if possible, or close to that pricing) that can withstand a little the passage of time, since I'm not a fan of changing phones(or any other equipement really) every 3 years; this means not only it not fuctioning anymore, but also not becoming too slow to fuction properly. Thats why I was looking for features of smartphones to figure out which parts are needed for it to have a good and relatively long lasting life, but I never owned a smartphone so I am a little lost. As far as I understand it, the battery(life and quality of the battery itself) and the recharging process are one of the main reasons for smartphones dying, and then too little RAM(or more like the increasing demand for more RAM usage from apps) is one of the main reason for smartphones becoming too slow if I'm not mistaken. Also I have no idea of the differences between the different CPUs in smartphones, so right now I'm just going by core count, but I don't know how to check core speed and other possible features that I need to be aware of, like if some are too hot and don't have good enough dissipation and stuff like that, or if they have audio jacks, usb ports, any other feature that might be vital but I do not know of it because I never had a smartphone before. Other features like decent resolution, camera quality etc. are all welcome but the primary objective is a reliable smartphone that doesn't die or slow down in a couple of years. I know nothing of the smartphone world and I dived a little in websites like gsmarena.com , productchart.com etc. but I haven't really understood much. I would like to receive more information about what to look for in a smartphone; specific vital features, information that is hard to come by, etc. Like when you're building a computer some of the things to remember is to never cheap out on the power supply, to always check the dimensions of your hardware pieces and the case, to have a good enough cooling solution, to check the airflow in the case and setup the fans accordingly, that having 2 or 4 sticks of ram is better than having 1 or 3, that an SD, even if just big enough to store the OS, is a worthy investment, etc., these kind of tips; I completely unaware of tips like these when it comes to choosing a smartphone. So yeah any advice, any comprehensive guide you can link me, any comprehensive list on the different CPUs that smartphones have, any website that can help me, really any information that might help me. I found some smartphones that I think would be good candidates and I would like to know what you think of them; Xiaomi Redmi Note 5(which doesn't differ too much from the 6 if I'm not mistaken?) and the Note 6 and all the different versions of them(6?6A?6pro?), LG Q7, Xiaomi Pocophone F1, Asus Zenfone Max Pro, Realme 2 Pro, Xiaomi Mi A2 and Blackview P6000. All of them have(or have versions with) 6GB of RAM or more, decent resolution, decent battery life(but idk about durability and quality of the battery itself), not all of them have fast-charging(something I might be interested in since I understand its something that helps in keeping smartphones alive by charging them often but not to the brim or waiting for them to have a depleted battery), they should also all have 6 or more CPU cores, but I do not know anything else of them really. Do you have any other smartphones you could suggest for me to check out? Thank you in advance!

I'm actually going back on the darkbase pro900, it doesnt seem that good in terms of performance.. fuck I'm also looking at the Lian Li o11 dynamic, it looks like it would support the radiator splendidly without having any GPU lenght or PSU cables issues, but is the airflow in it bad?

yeah I know the meshify was too small for what I need, I hope the define R6 will not have these problems. The point is that I need space for 360mm and a very long GPU, but I also need HDD space.

@TVwazhere I'm watching some videos about the R6 and it seems there are, like, actual mountings for side-mounted 3.5" which is nice and totally different from how I understood it worked

The R6 seems to be a little too cramped for my tastes, if you read back@TVwazhere already suggested it, but after a fail with the Meshify C I don't want to risk it, and as far as I know, the darkbase pro 900 should have everything I need, so unless the thermals are very bad.. I was even thinking back at the Thermaltake View 71 TG

The fractal r6 is better than the dynamic or the darkbase 900? I gues the Dynamic, since it's designed to be a full liquid cooling case

Define "few", I dont wanna wait for a month! BTW in the meantime I ordered a darkbase pro 900 silver for "just" 200€, but its gonna be delivered in 10 days so I have time to nullify if I find a better fit for my needs
