  1. Th warranty (through amazon) is from a company called "SmartGuard". Does anyone have anything experience with them, good or bad, i'd like to know.
  2. I was prolly going to get it from Amazon, and the 3 year warranty is only 125 extra. I figured it was a no brainer at that price. Especially after ready what you just mentioned about the panels QC.
  3. Been doing a lot of digging and looking at charts/infographs and the like, using the suggestions you gave and I am leaning pretty hard towards the TCL R617 right now. Just wanted to say thanks for all the helpful info you gave.
  4. Up to $1500 but would love to stick as close to $1000 as I can.
  5. I seem to be in the market for a new large (50" at least), family room tv. The last time a purchased a TV was 10-12 years ago, so needless to say I have very little knowledge on them today. It would be used mostly for watching movies (either netflix or blu-ray), the occasional sporting event, and some console gaming (the kids still play console, which is ok with me as i get the gaming PC to myself most of the time lol) While 4k tv would be awesome, its my understanding it requires an internet connection, and I live in a place where we have a very strict (and low, 500GB a month) data cap, so all "normal" TV activities would be capped at the Bell Satellite's 1080p (I believe it is that anyways). I am not restricted to the "Cheapest" models, but looking more in the "bang for your buck" range. Thanks for the insight everyone.
  6. LOL actually its a little late. My brothers computer died a few months back and he can't replace it, so I told him it was a gift lol. Seems my googling was not all that far off as it seemed to suggest something in the 1500va range.
  7. This is the parts list for my new build ~~~> https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/SarcasticElder/saved/#view=W3CxGX and I am looking for advice as to what UPS I should use (Brands/Power/Anything else I should consider). I know a little on the subject, but google was not as helpful as I had hoped.
  8. I am building a second computer for my brother (lives in same house) and I am trying to find out if it is possible to copy all our steam games from our current set up to the HDD on the new one without using internet. We have a very strict data cap and it would take several months worth to download our entire library.
  9. oh, and while I know its out dated a optical drive would be a nice bonus (but not a deal breaker if missing)
  10. whoops forgot budget. between $400 and $600 ideally
  11. Ontario Canada, not really, 15 inch or bigger i guess, aaannnnnnnd no idea how battery life works, but guess i can say that it would be a feature i wouldn't be willing to spend extra on, especially at the expense of internal parts (like a stronger cpu or more memory for example)
  12. I am looking for help in finding a basic/budget laptop for my 16 year old daughter for Christmas. She will mostly be using it for school work, watching youtube, maybe chat( possibly video chat) with friends, that kind of thing. Real basic stuff. would like it to have a 1080p screen , have 1tb of storage and.... not sure, I know very little about laptops. Any help/info would be great. Thanks everyone.
  13. My tech deals sub did not renew this month as it has in the past. Then after looking in my settings it seems my other two subs have been set to not renew at the end of this month. This is not by my doing and would like to continue to be subbed to all three. Is this a known issue or am I just the lucky one?
  14. "Cannot be used to upgrade system" meaning windows 7 to windows 10 for example correct? NOT upgrading actual components..... right?
