  1. Like I said I'm not worried bout the power supply. Worst case scenario I just wire up a full size power supply externally. What im worried about is the motherboard not supplying the full 75 watts to the connector because it supposedly has a 25w limit on the small form factor motherboards. It has a i5 2400 in it right now and just integrated graphics so I know the power supply still has plenty juice left, i think its rated at 260w but I'd have to look it up again if been considering this for like a year just never had the extra cash. Worst case scenario I should be able to return the card if it doesnt work. I know some hp prebuilts can only be used with specific cards that are options from the factory because they lock out the ability to use any card you want for some stupid reason, I think so by people dont warranty their PC when the power supply busts from being overloaded. If it doesnt have a limitation on the motherboard like that and there just saying it cause the undersized power supply then it should work fine. I just dont want to buy a graphics card and be stuck with it if I cant use it in this system.
  2. Hey i was wondering if anyone has ever put a 1050 ti into a dell optiplex 390 sff. I know it will fit physically but info online is a little sketchy with some people saying it should work fine and other people saying it has compatibility issues with the motherboard. im not worried about the power supply but the pcie connector is supposedly rated for 25 watts? i think its just a warning because the undersized power supply but im not sure if it has a hardware limitation. like i said some people have had a 1050 ti in systems very similar to this one from dell but i dont want to get the card just to have it not work in this system. im considering either the 1050 ti or a gt 1030 but i would rather get the 1050 ti even though this is just a secondary system.
  3. btw $1.70 - $2.00 is for a full 24 hours not just overnight
  4. thats not what im expecting, im making roughly $1.70 - 2.00 a day on nicehash im just trying to learn more about mining as this is the first time iv had a dedicated gpu to work with. i got this laptop mostly for gaming just because the way gpu prices were and i usually only run it overnight. Either way it has a 2 year warranty so im not thinking about it too much i was just wondering if its fine to run it 24/7
  5. Anyone have any experience with the long term effects of running a gpu at 100% load constantly? I have an acer predator helios 300 which has a gtx 1060 6 gb. im just trying to figure everything out and this is what i have to work with, im just wondering how long until i do some sort of long term damage. Temps are at 65 c under full load with no load on cpu. Im going to change thermal paste just waiting for better supplys to come in the mail.
  6. I did just change the thermal paste about 2 weeks ago, the temps decreased a good chunk not that they were too bad before either but i didnt start monitoring individual core temps until after so i dont know how it was before. i havent had issues applying tim unless like you said its an air bubble ill have to order some more so i can try again. im using arctic mx-4
  7. intel Extreme Utility, what should i use aida64 extreme doesnt show me cpu temps for some reason
  8. the first 3 cores stay pretty much the same under load as well with the 4th being the outlier
  9. Is it normal for temps on 3 cores to be pretty much the same at idle and the 4th core be about 7 degrees celcius hotter on an i5-2400? Im not worried cause the hotter core is at 47 ish while the other 3 around 40. Under load its about 65 Celsius while the other 3 cores fluctuate between 58 and 60. Possibly Thermal paste prob?
  10. i know but for some reason no one has any issues with the extra 5w with supposed 25w limit. i just dont understand how some people can run the 1050ti in this board with no issues
  11. Hey everyone i dont know if im posting im the right spot but i have a Dell Optiplex 390 sff with an i5-2400. I was looking into putting a graphics card into it and it looks like the 1050 ti low profile card is the best i might be able to get working in the system. Some people online it seem to have no problem with this setup but dell lists the pci slot has a 25 watt limit and the card is a 75 watt card. Iv seen this system have issues with other 75 watt cards but for some reason the 1050 ti seems like it doesnt have this problem? I dont really know what i should do at this point, should i buy the card and try it out? Or is it a definite waste of money and just go with a gt 1030?
