  1. so i got the case for free but with missing side panels, ive been looking for a way to replace them or build them. was wondering if any of the newer side panels (ie the define r6) are compatible. Maybe ideas if i wanted to make my own
  2. if I dont get any other answers that will be the way I'll go. thank you
  3. well I'm looking to use it as as a media box I figured android would be the easiest. main things I want it to do is stream hulu and work as a steam link, basic emulation would be nice as well. I wanted a thin client because the networking chips in them are always the best,( for the steam link) my next thought was to look at linux distros. hopefully something remote friendly
  4. hi all, I'm looking to kinda DIY a android tv box with a thin client. I have a hp t510 in my cart and ready to go but I've been looking for android tv specific isos and having no luck. would it be it's own iso or would I look for the gapps suit after. thanks for the replies in advance I'm at work so I'm sorry if I'm slow to reply.
  5. I dont know if it works, I don't want to buy a 70 dollar motherboard, if the cpu doesn't work to begin with
  6. I have a old i5 2500k laying about and I'm trying to see if it works. I wanted to buy a cheap OEM motherboard off ebay to see if it would work. The optiplexs motherboard is 1155 but in its cpu compatibility list it doesn't list any i5 below the 3000 series, I'm wondering if it's a chipset limit or just something that it was old at the time so they would not have tested it. if this motherboard would not work can anyone point me at a cheap oem board it would work with. thanks in advance
  7. ebay is where I would get the cpu it runs at 25 to 30 bucks I'm just worried it cant keep up with the 580
  8. I'm looking at a 1156 motherboard from a computer recycler in my area and getting a xeon x3470 but I'm worried about the bottle neck that might bring, I'm using a phenom ii 1045t and it's kinda painful to watch
  9. so I had a i5 2500k, but due to a aio leak i now need a new cpu and motherboard. I'm trying to stay within a budget of 100 bucks. I have 16 gigs of ddr3 so I'd like to stay in that platform. I play at 1080p and have the 8 gig version of the 580. I'm in the us so I have a good used market and have no preference between amd and Intel. only things I need is usb 3 and SATA 3.
  10. Ok,so im planning on going to school for cisco network management, i have a "older" gaming pc but its a full atx and with a old power hungry i7 and a rx 580. so im trying to decide if i want to get a cheap low powered laptop or get rid of my pc and buy a gaming laptop. my price point is around 700 to 850 and only if i sell my old PC. Im not in a dorm so size is not a issue, i also i know im not going to get the same performance as my desktop and im fine with that. im a bit of a amd fan boy but understand if i want some more performance intel and nivida are the way to go. i do stream once and a while and still plan on doing it, im also looking at getting a cheaper laptop with a good cpu and thunderbolt so i can run a external gpu and gaming hard drive at home so i can focus on class when im in class.
  11. I have the lg v20 which has the quad dac built in. My question is are there any app/program that can use my phone as a dac I have to have it connected to use the internet/have my games on the SD card so it's not a inconvenience and just wanted to know before I buy something.
  12. I still might try it for the lols and see what happens, luckily my friend has a am3+ motherboard that I can use, but did not want to buy more hardware, if I do try it I will post what happens and see if it still is usable. Thanks for the help.
